miwa shirow's DOGS. sure, it doesn't have as much detail as Kentaro Miura's artwork, or as realistic as the art in vagabond or Oh!Great's sense of style (which, i'm getting so used to the point of it getting so-so now). but the fact that it looks so smooth and clean (considering the scan is properly , er, cleaned) and yet still look rugged in its own stylish way.

i should mention the lack of backgrounds most of the time btw. is that a fault? well, for me, no. the fact that tones are rarely used, results in the art to be full of blinding whites and thick blacks, giving the manga a somewhat noir-like feel. honestly its hard for me to perfectly describe it all completely, but, in a better lack of words, the artwork is so.... "floaty". it seems so easy to imagine how the characters would animate.

second place for me goes to hiroaki samura. again, the sketch-like,rugged artwork (which looks like was drawn using your everyday black pen) works really well. action sequences are more intensified as the art becomes more chaotic,"sketchy" ,if you will.

you'd probably think i'd be into tsutomu nihei's considering how i like my art to be rugged, but aside from snikt! i really can't get into his manga. i do however admit i like the bizarre tone to his style.

finally, kubo tite's. i don't really know what you'd call it, but the colorful "funk" (my own definition. i don't know the word to describe it) like style he shows on the cover/title page amuses me. he'd do well if he was an illustrator drawing random characters and scenes.

I like Hiro Mashima's art work in Rave Master better than Fairy Tail.It was still less influenced from working on One Piece. Not that having that influence is a bad thing, but I like Oda's work and Mashima's work because they are similar yet aren't.
Everyone was making a big fuss over how well Kousuke Fujishima draws Belldandy and that's true enough, but what about the detail he puts in his cars and motorcycles. even back when his people drawings were looking crappy he drew some awesome cars.lol
What about Stone and Hell's Angels. I know the art is all super scribbly but I think it looks cool.

Other manga worth mentioning Saikano and Read or Die.

i notice female mangakas are more fine at art than males, much more detailed and good looking. especially the shonen ecchi ones. look at mizuki kawashita (ichigo100) and hoshino katsura (dgrayman). also court betten. as for the males oku hiruya's gantz is by far the most realistic art i've seen, and harold sakuishi's beck. and takehiko inoue's are just gorgeous dramatic sketches. and kentaro miura's art is too.... epic. the scenes you see in berserk are breathtaking.

but the art i love most is still one piece. specifically the countless color works oda made. that is just pure example of heartwarming, attractive creative art.

I prefer I"s artwork rather than ichigo100%, as for female mangaka Kaori Yuki is awesome I like her dark gothic style.

actually theres many male artisan who are lot better than oh great! in drawings girls, but their art are only avaiable in eroge XD (ex: Sano Toshihide).

for the artists(cause I can't decide on only one manga from them)would be:
CLAMP(X/1999 or Chobits)
Daisuke Moriyama(Chrno Crusade and World Embryo)
Arina Tanemura(Kamikaze Kajtou Jeanne or Fullmoon wo Sagashite)
and Yun Kouga(Loveless)

also the best drawn mangas would be the ones to .hack// but they have differents artists so...

I have to agree about the color art, like those creative title pages where the straw hats are doing some random activity.

My opinions on best drawn manga that I've read:
Vagabond - by Takehiko Inoue
Blade of the Immortal - Hiroaki Samura
Solanin - Asano Inio

I think the Bride of the Water God is the best...

But then again that's manhwa...

Does that count? ._.

Bloody Kiss has the best art. I mean the art's drawn very detailed and the characters are quite beautiful.

Oh and Cynical Orange also has some pretty good art. But it's manwha. The only thing is the bodies looks a bit too long and thin.

Urasawa Naoki and Inoue Takehiko. Both of them are great artists.
Blade of the Immortal and Berserk both have really full and vivid landscapes in them which i like a lot. I haven't read Mushishi, but if its anything like the anime was its probably very pretty. Oh! Great is a good artist, and unfortunately thats about it. Also, BECK has a really nice drawing style, as does Koroshiya Ichi. Thats all i can think of 😀
