Tobi can be Otobi. Why? Because Tobi his elemental chakra type is earth.
(He place the C4 mines in the fight with sasuke). So lets say that Otobi at the last moment discovered that he had that elemental chakra type earth and mix with the earth or something like that and escaped death that way.

I think Tobi might be Obito since Kishimoto showed us Obito in Kakashi Gaiden and didn't show us if he was buried or not, therefore we cannot be sure if he actually is dead. Then Tobi came along with his mask, very similar hairstyle and goofy personality. His eye is on the right side AND he has Sharingan. If Kishimoto wanted him to be Madara then he probably wouldn't make him look so damned much like Obito.

Yeah but Obito lost the sharingan from his right eye and his left side was supposed to be crushed. There is no grave because he was buried under that earth jutsu that crushed half of his body.

All the above is wrong. My bad. I remembered it reversed. But the burial thing might still hold.

come on, we are talking about Narutoverse where anything happens. Demons, cars, TV, computer, ninja, giant talking animals, dead corpse coming alive.

In the trans I read he said: "My power... Uchiha Madara's power...". Doesn't that mean he is Uchiha Madara? 'Cause if my power was Uchiha Madara's power then I would be Uchiha Madara!

The trans could be poor, Madara could be Obito's nick or the other way 'round. Or his name could be Uchiha Obito Madara (kinda vauge lol). Well, thats the only arguments I can come up with to support the Tobi being Obito anyway. 😎

I don't think so. IMO I enjoyed the way he was introdused. Tobi is Uchiha Madara. Thats the most logical explenation anyway.

I'm sure that Kishimoto had some of those thoughts in mind, but wanted to make it a more fanatical and science fiction to his story. A world where there are such things as Ninjas and technology; Ninja often referred to protectors/assasins.

That explains the whole Uchiha Madara thing even though i'm not sure if it's theory or fact. It is THOROUGH.
But from what Tobi says in the manga i think he's not Madara. I don't really like the idea but he might jus be Obito... Which would suck... I WANT A WTF MOMENT FROM KISHI!!!!

Sigh... Naruto isn't a fictional Ancient world. It's a fictional world. And in the end it doesn't matter, 'cause the Author decides everything. And may I repeat: Kishi has already explained the technological stuff. Remember chapter 1? The powerlines? the streetlights?
