it has been the best chapter in the akatsuki arc in my opinion.
For things some people said, i doubt naruto will keep on relying on kyuubi´s chakra and adding tails to his transformations, come on, if he adds a fifth tail he will be no more than a plump of flesh. He isn´t the yondaime´s son for nothing, and he will be entrusted with jiraiya´s will (the method of kyuubi´s seal).

I dunno, they went back and used the old chapters and lines for the jiraiya/orochimaru part, that was kind of disappointing, 4 pages of straight up old chapters....

Masashi's been on a killing spree lately, doubt jiraiya will be exempt from that fetish either. It is a shame though, but I guess he really wants to push naruto out by himself...the first one to become hokage as a genin....

Though it's quite possible for naruto to go berserk with the ninetails power again, he's not exactly the most level headed ninja in the series and with the recent series of events, I doubt he'll be able to keep a cool head in the future.

here is my theory on the jiraya issue. There needs to be some event that leads Naruto to snap into the 9 tail mode in the end. The only things I can think that would cause that would be something happening to Sasuke or Sakura or Jiraya. I believe Pain is going to use Jiraya's body against naruto in the end to cause the final 9 tails transformation. Just my guess at whats going to happen but seriously, I hope Jiraya doesn't buy the farm here, Tsunade doesn't need to lose another loved one again.

My only problem with Naruto going nine-tailed is that he has no control over his power. And the whole tactic that they're going for now is control with his own human chakra, which is very powerful as is. Naruto would be fighting as a rampaging demon, not as the human that wants to protect and save his loved ones.

You might be right, but I think they would go for something a little more dramatic. Yes, I do see Pain using Jiraya's body, and Naruto going 9 tails. But, I believe that if Naruto goes nine tails, then the Kyuubi will be completely released, and just might leave Naruto's body all together. Naruto will have to either beat Kyuubi then Pain, or might beat Pain during his demon-fox mode and then have to beat Kyuubi.
🤢 Either way its gonna be some dramatic fight between his inner demon and his newly found resolve/hidden potential...

Not only that, we can't forget the significance of Jiraya finding out who or what Pain really is. Who knows how that alone will effect the future?

Hey what happened to that poll frog that Jiraya pulled out of his throat. When they were talking about controling the good and bad chakra maybe that will have to be taught to him by the toads and then he can fight Pain. That is what I'm think and maybe it has something to do with the jutsu that Jiraya told him not to use earlier on in the story. That was probably the good and bad chakra he had trouble controling. His mom to me kinda reminded me of Hinata and his dad was totally acting like naruto all happy go lucky. That is what i saw at least.

Man Naruto's gonna have one hell of a surprise when he fights Pein. Pein will undoubtedly use Jaraiya. Gonna be a hell of a fight.

I think Naruto is eventually going to control the kyuubi chakra. I doubt that the kyuubi will be let out, since its a birthday present from daddy. Even Jaraiya said there was some significance with Minato sealing the Yang(or Yin) of Kyuubi's chakra in his own son.

i didn´t cry, but it moved me, that was why i said it was the best chapter since the akatsuki arc. Every arc before has that touching moment that made the manga a good read (specially the first volumes)

Naruto is probably going to befriend the Kyubi and it ends up being his personal summon creature.

now I don't think that something that belongen to the Uchihas or is maybe one of the foundations of their clan would just go friendly with Naruto at some point...

only if there were no Uchihas anymore but we all know Sasuke or Itachi won't die!

You get it.. 😀

Naruto isn't going to go nine-tails >.>;; Unless something drastic happens, but even then I have my doubts. I think this is the perfect chance to see how Naruto has matured.

Maybe when he hears that Jiraiya has died, he'll suddenly be quiet and you can't see his eyes, you know. 😛 Then he remembers in the past that Jiraiya said that if I die, you shouldn't freak out. It would be my time to go~

Something along those lines. 🤣

Also Jiraiya is definitely dead. >.>;; If he wasn't, then what was the point of making the reader feel sad? It would be just like One Piece, where everybody miraculously survives. Not trying to bash or anything. 😛

Also Itachi will die eventually, in my opinion. Just not now, it's too soon. And the only way I see Kakashi dieing is if Tobi is Obito's body.

I'm still not 100% convinced J-man is dead yet, and won't be until they hold a funeral like they did for the Third and Azuma. I did have one thought though, if Kushina is going to show up in something other that a flashback NOW would be just about the Ideal time for it. Imagine she skulks in after Pain leaves Jiraiya's near-lifeless body and absconds it to some places to revive him some how. Maybe not very likely but there has to be some point of finally showing her after 380+ chapters of nothing but shallow references.

I also have to say it was pretty obvious, as a reader, that Naruto was the "Destined Child," I immediately knew it was him as soon as I read the great sages prediction. Therefore, the way this is going to turn out is somewhat predictable, if very loosely. If the nine-tails manages to gain a big enough toe hold to completely overwhelm Naruto = Bad End, If Naruto finds the personal will power and fortitude to defeat the demon = Happy End. (Whether this is an internal battle of Naruto's heart or one that happens after the Kyuubi is released who knows?) It's also pretty obvious that Naruto will recieve the frog staff thing now that Jiraiya is at least going to be assumed dead by Pa and therefore, by proxy, all of the frogs as he was the last to see him.

I do agree this is one of the better chapters since the time skip because of all the things it has set into motion and all the wide range of possibilities that it has given birth to.

I think the death of Jiraiya really puts more depth in Naruto. 😀 And I think he's dead, since he said "I'll leave the rest to you". But I won't refuse the possibility that someone may take Jiraya and heal him. BUT that healer needs to be really astonishing to heal the injuries of Jiraiya, so that points to Tsunade. Though I have serious doubts of her coming, since she's the Hokage after all.

Other good healers are Shizune and Sakura. Meh, Shizune hasn't played a big role in the manga 'till now, so why should it be like that now? She's always with 'Tsunade-sama'. And Sakura is busy momentarily.

Also, I don't think that Kushina is still alive. Jiraiya said, ".. Like Minato and Kushina wanted". Considering its past form, I assume they would be both dead.

And if Kushina did still live, it would kind of nullify the pain and loneliness of not having a family of Naruto, in my opinion. One of the themes in Naruto is that you don't need blood relatives to have a "family". You can make your own.

Like Naruto once said, he considers Sasuke as his brother, and Iruka as his father.

I just read the Japanese version, and it does have a sense of nostalgia that he is reminiscent of losing both of them. I still think there is a possibility Kushina is alive though. There has to be a good reason for her to be coming out so strongly recently, and I don't think simple back story and reminiscing are sufficient enough to cover it. I think she may very well come out on the side against Naruto. This will not only add to the pain Naruto has already suffered it will also give Naruto a frame of reference on where Sasuke is standing. This could be used to strengthen their bond as "family" and might help him pull his friend back before he hits the true point of no return. However, this is all speculation so, meh.

Yeah, but bringing Kushina back in some form, is just the same as bringing Yondaime back. They would lose their 'mystery' vibe. "Who are they?" "How strong are they?" "How did they meet?", etc. I like that vibe. 😛

Though I think that the latter question will be answered. And maybe Kishi'll show a bit of what Kushina is capable of.
