Well, I've been wondering for a while Why Bleach is titled "Bleach"?
What I've conjectured so far is that it is called bleach beacuse of Ichigo
who seems to clean up any mess that he comes in contact with, but I don't know if that is totally correct or if its just something to do with his hair or something.
So if anyone know please take the time to reply
Thanks 🙂

Wasn't it because Ichigo's hair is a bleached color? 😛 and also what you said 🤣

Actually, I've been wondering about that, too. The Ichigo (and his hair) hypotheses are good, but I guess it's another question that's going on list 'to-ask' Tite-sensei.

Edit: Um, shouldn't it be moved into Bleach section?

What seems to be the most likely thing to me is that it was an instance of engrish, and it was supposed to be "Breach", as in a breach between worlds (ie, b/n our world, Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, etc).

Me has an idea!

Remember the first volume?
Ichigo, taking Rukia's powers, turned her clothes white.
Like a bleach.

I'd say that it has another meaning that we won't know until the end, like in Flame of Recca. Or it could be something symbolic in who Ichigo is and what he does, like in Fruits Basket. For that one, you'd have to wait until the end as well.

It's because of Ichigo's bleach-blond hair. See volume 1.

There was a good meaning to it,0000 but I've forgotten. Ichigo's hair does count though.

Maybe, because the Mangaka was washing his clothes when he was first thinking of a name and he suddenly remember that he forgot to buy Bleach today.....and without thinking he put Bleach as a title and when he finally noticed the name it was to late because it was already Published and in Stores. 🤣

Who knows... Maybe it's realy like one here said, we need to wait till the end like in "Fruits Basket" to find out.
Or maybe it's just randomality.. Maybe the author just wanted something that has a nice sound to it and waas a one-word. 😕

This isn't surprising. There are many manga out there whose titles don't make any sense. This is usual in Japan, it also apply to anime and movie. 😀

I second, third, or fourth [whichever] the idea that it is because of Ichigo's hair but I also like the Engrish/Breach idea.

I have seen some funny Engrish but never on anything so popular. 🤣

I'm almost positive it's going to have a double meaning in the end. Like Ichigo's "bleached" hair was the symbol of him sweeping everything aside so everything can start out fresh and new.
