I know how.. It was confusing at first but I found some great tutorial and then taught myself. 😀

Think of IRC as a huuge chat room, but in this chat-room you can download other peoples stuff. =P For example, this picture shows a typical IRC chat room.

I tend to think of irc as a chat room without all the myspace kids that can't read or write. Also IRC is a last resort for getting scans or only if I'm going to be downloading an entire series.

I've been trying to use IRC, but it seems like every channel? I join has their own setup, so what works with one doesn't work with the other so I end up having to learn it all over again. DDL is way easier, heck, torrents are easier too.

Well, thank you for your devotion.

I'm the same as Razril, before we had BT (much less mediafire/rapidshare/etc) the only way to get manga and anime was through IRC.

It's actually really simple to use, although at first I was also intimidated by it until a friend showed me how. I remember when I still had dial-up and how hard it was to try and download anything, but you can resume downloads in IRC. It's also a great way to get access to old stuff, since things released over a year ago usually have dead torrents and usually aren't up that long on DDL sites.

Nowadays I just head to #lurk, but I still remember having to join 10+ channels across 2 or 3 different servers to download stuff.
