I've read Doushitemo Furetakunai so many times I've lost count. I think it's a really cute manga with a good atmosphere and a nice story. I've read most of the author's work and I'm looking for stories with a similar feel/atmosphere. Any recommandations? Thanks!

A lot of different users recommendations from myanimelist:

Ano Hi no Kimi wo Dakishimeta nara
Similar characters; similar plot; simillar setting; both are GREAT

Saigo no Door wo Shimero!
I second! I was going over here just to make the very same recommendation but for total different reasons. If you ask me the alcohol doesn't play such a significant part in these stories. Both are yaoi about a relationship between men that is plausible. You could actually imagine this story is about real people. Their uncertainties will not remind you of a shoujo manga. These stories aren't stitched together from one fallacy to another. The characters in these manga's act like adults and have a mind of their own, which they actually use. These stories are definitely a must read!

Sojou no Koi wa Nido Haneru
Strong and sincere emotions are a big part of both titles. Sojou contains more sex scenes which are also more explicit. Very good story is what makes those two a great read.

Sagatte Omachi Kudasai
Tsundere cute uke, pushy seme, suits, what more can you ask for? Though Sagatte Omachi Kudasai isn't as deep as Doushitemo Furetakunai, both gives off the same feeling for the characters.

Aiso Tsukashi
Both ukes have a strange sexual appeal that entices their partners regardless of any other factors. They both have a beauty mark below their lip and share bad experiences in the past which causes them to be unable to trust in anyone in the present.

DF is set in a normal business place between a superior and his subordinate while AT switches between a prison setting mixed with a yakuza background. Both are excellent reads since the characters go through a fair deal in order to change their personalities for the better.

Yumemiru Seiza
Similar art, office relationship, similar characters.

Ano Kado Wo Magatta Tokoro
Yaoi manga with a good plot and a sweet, funny story.

Castle Mango
Both are kind of like. . . two guys fall in love at some kind of office or work place. The art is similar, too. :3

Actually, if you liked Castle Mango, you'll like just about everything by Doushitemo Furetakunai's author, cause I certainly do. :u

Honki ja Neekara
Both mangas involve heartbroken ukes in which they are cheered up by their initially straight semes.

Amai Jouken
Both are similar and a very good read. Delicious, heart-warming, good endings.

Work In
Similar in art and storyline(working men) NO GIRLY UKE! HOLD A FUJOSHI PARTY!

Gokujou no Koibito
Interesting plots and fresh characters

Darenimo Aisarenai
Very similar characters and storyline. Both are really worth reading.

Ashita mo Tanin
Both stories begin with a gay guy falling in love with a straight guy (orphan) that has a really strong family wish. When the straight guy is hitting on them they are very scared to begin a relationship for they believe it is doomed to fail.

Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yume wo Miru
There's an emotionally painful edge to how uncertainty in relationships is portrayed in both the dialogue and body language. A surprisingly relatable aspect not often found in BL works.

Lotus Eater
Several similarities in the plot and setting:

  1. seme and uke work together, with the seme being the superior 2. uke is gay, seme is initially straight (or used to be) 3. uke is traumatized by being rejected by a former lover over a woman and vows never to get involved with a hetero/bi ever again 4. seme tries to win the uke, who in turns tries to escape 5. seme has a calm, matter of fact way of accepting his sudden love for a person of the same sex 6. changing pov

Soushoku Joushi no Otoshikata
Sweet romances about two men working in same place.

Hydra
Apart from the general feel and tone of the story, both BL manga contain seemingly simple details that work to give the story an incredibly realistic feel.

Innocent Blue
Both are sad stories of main characters that try to keep up their relationships, but their family-members doesn't allow it( in Innocent Blue) & their workmates try to help by being the communicator( in Doushitemo Furetakunai). Innocent blue is a lot sadder and the break-a-part is caused by the other partner (The seme). Unlike Doushitemo Furetakunai, the break is caused by the main character (The uke).

Boku wa Kimi no Tori ni Naritai
Yaoi has an awful reputation, but here are two works that I would call beautiful. While they have fairly different settings, both stories are well-done, with heroes you want to cheer for. The supporting cast in both series' are amazingly well-crafted for the genre. I definitely reccomend them both.
