Description
On the first day of Shima's new job he met a man with a hangover in the elevator. That was his first meeting with his new boss, Togawa. Though Togawa seemed rude and cross, Shima was drawn to the kindness beneath his rough facade. Both men harbor a painful past but unlike Togawa, who was open with his feelings, Shima seems unable to move on.

Romance... at its finest! by lilly.mamoru on October 27th, 2009, 11:29am

One of the best romance, drama and comedy yaoi manga; and most definitely my favorite! I didn't really feel that emotional reading Doushitemo Furetakunai. But listening to the audio drama CD, I couldn't help but cried. My heart ached so bad that I pretty much sobbing at 2 in the morning!

Read it, and if you have the time, listen to the drama CD as well. The seiyuu did an amazing job voicing the characters.

hatched into my heart (finished) by lylicagalatea on October 26th, 2009, 6:32am

I tend to be repetitive but Yoneda Kou's style is simply heartwrenching: her style depicts emotions in a unique way. She doesn't need loads of dialogues because her character speak through their silence, through their eyes.

This story concerns two persons who are drawn towards eachother even though their personal past experiences push them to run away and they fall in love against all their reasoning.
It is also the story of someone who has to come to terms with the fact that being alone for all his life will not protect him of hurting, but actually will cause him more pain. So true it's scary.

Sweet, complex and deep. Well developed and slow (as opposed to rushed). A good deal of sexual tension as only she can depict and an everyday, realistic feeling to their situations that makes you relate to them and hatches them straight into your heart.

if not my most favourite of all times, definitely in the top 5.

I could so see this happening in real life by PrettyAyumi on October 23rd, 2009, 8:45am

Yeah, it's true. It was so real for me. The depth of emotions of Shima, wow, just simply wow. You that knot in the stomach that you feel when reading something beautiful, romantic, angsty stuff in manga? I sooo felt it. Ah, I just love this. It was so realistic for me. I hope the mangaka would continue this and make more chapters and volumes. I want to read more!!! Togawa and Shima are so cute as a couple. Add in Onoda and that makes it even more interesting hehe! So anyway, I loved this and recommend it. Every yaoi fan must read this.

The plot is really solid. And the smex was just the right dose. So what are you waiting for? Read it now, now, now! Feel the love. biggrin

whenever you something romantic and angsty

Perfect for those BL Lovers of 'Everyday' Love by MightyMaeve on October 4th, 2009, 1:02pm

There is a 'quietness' about this story that was touching. It was like a true love story. I found it a slow and uncaptivating because it was so everyday. But it did have an element of purity in it, as the mangaka carefully tried to craft a story about the different ways one can put their past to use.

no. 1 all-time-fav by cicatrice on August 23rd, 2009, 3:28am

simply love. love love love. It took quite a time to finish this manga, but everytime a new chapter was out I almost went crazy, in a positive way. I so fell in love with just after the 2nd chapter, and now it's finished. can't believe this.. I mean this is so calling for a sequel! Please Yoneda-sensei, draw something more about Shima-san and Togawa-san, even the name-topic was so cute at the end. What I liked most of the manga was, it really had a plot!! and the storyline was just so cute and comprehensible, I for myself oftentimes found myself in Shima and I could understand his actions and why he did some things and some not pretty good. the way the art of Yoneda-sensei tells a big part of the story instead of speechbubbles is also one of the best parts of this manga.

all in all, READ IT!! you won't regret it!

and please, a continuation. wink

10+ points!

Amazing! by aoiro on August 22nd, 2009, 8:38pm

How much has your past shaped you, and how easily will you throw it away for someone?

I just finished Doushitemo Furetakunai yesterday, and it has easily become my favorite yaoi manga of all time. It had me in tears towards the end. The art is great. It's simple and beautiful in its own way without being overly gorgeous like Yamane Ayano or Nekota Yonezou's art. (Not that I dislike these mangakas, I'm just using them as examples. biggrin )

The plot (plot!!) contains the right amount of complexity; it's beautiful and touches the heart. It contains a moderate (but still good bigrazz ) amount of smut. Reading along with the drama CD made this manga especially enjoyable. The voice actors were PERFECT.

A wonderful story! by chubee on August 20th, 2009, 10:39am

Beautiful art and meaningful plot, this is what I can sum up about Doushitemo Furetakunai. Although the story is short, the characters are well-developed and very likable. Above all, there is that feeling of love which is hard to describe. A fleeting and yet passionate kind of love, one that never fails to captivate the readers. For me, it is truly a feast for both the eyes and the soul!

Great story by daniyagami on August 12th, 2009, 8:21pm

I loved this story because it is different for what usually is done in yaoi. The characters are not plain, the story is not predictable, there is a lot of emotion going on and you are irresistibly dragged. One of my all time favs mangas, I´ll look forward for more works made by this mangaka.

My Favorite Yaoi by cocoaplaya on August 4th, 2009, 3:35pm

This is probably my #1 favorite manga (unless the mangaka royally messes the ending up... then I will have to change this opinion). The way the mangaka can evoke emotions through her words and drawings is just amazing. I cannot begin to describe how I felt at the end of chapter two. My heart ached for Shima. There is a subtlety to this work and I love that. I hate melodramatic and whiny stories. This is far from that.
