I actually need to eat more. I eat once or twice a day been doing that for 3-4 years now I wake up spend half the day then eat at 1-2 o'clock then once again around 7-8 and thats it. Though I do drink tea 2-3 times a day with LARGE quantities of chocolate.

For anybody looking to lose weight, if you dig around on the government weight loss sites, they give you a lot of info. They even have a thing that you fill out with the food you've eaten and it tells you how many calories, grams of salt, fat, etc you've eaten.
http://www.mypyramid.gov/

What I've figured out about weight loss is that you eat three 300 calorie meals and three 100 calorie snacks a day. To keep hunger off, you should try to eat foods with at least 2 grams of fiber per 100 calories. As for sugars, I think it no more than 258 sugar calories a week. So that means only 1 Hershey bar a week. That and exercise and drinking water too. I know most people don't want to exercise, but for every 1lb of muscle you have, you burn 50 calories a day. You also burn more calories standing than you do sitting and more sitting than laying down. You even burn more calories doing nothing than watching TV because when you watch TV, you actually slow down your metabolism (you're in a trance).

Quote from kana503
My friend said he was on a diet and refused some Swiss chocolate, but I never really knew what his diet was like. Another friend got sick with the flu or something and didn't feel like eating much for a week or so. He lost some weight because of that, but regained it quickly. biggrin But you shouldn't fast a lot and gain back the weight ("weight cycling"), because that puts a strain on your heart and your overall body. Like that other person said, moderation and exercise is good. Oh, what I learned from wellness class is eating five small meals per day is a way to shed pounds. My textbook said you shouldn't try to lose more that a pound per week though. Then again, that book is over a decade old, so that detail should be researched.

Not many people have time for five small meals. I've heard that smaller portions more frequently is good for you, if that confirms what kana said for anyone.

It's funny with me because when most people get sick they tend to not eat but when I get sick, I get hungry.

It isn't really so much as what you eat, but how much you eat... if you try to stick to three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and cut back on snacking.. and avoid eating late. And if you're a huge soda drinker... cut back on that.. I actually know a person that completely stopped drinking soda and lost 10lbs because of it. Personally, I'm not one to count carbs.. or even really actually care what I'm shoving in my mouth as long as it's delicious, but if I'm actually trying to lose some weight, for whatever reason, I just stick to eating only x amount of times a day.. and working out. If you seriously want to keep the weight off don't rely only on diet pills.

Again coincidence.. Last week, we had a discussion about diet pills..

A few reasons why they're bad:
Sometimes they have bad side effects..
They don't always give you the result you want..
The result aren't even that great..
There are other possibilities to lose weight..
If you then quit those pills, you gain more weight than you previously had..

And they're scary.. smile

Personally, I hate diet pills.. they're one of the biggest waste of money. I've actually seen someone that took them, their body became so used to them, that when they didn't take one, they'd get the shakes. It was one of those diet pills that have supplements to boost your energy... Their body pretty much had to go through detox when they stopped using them (but, they also used 'em for a long time too.. soo). That's why I would never recommend 'em..

Diet pills are scary. I haven't heard of one that kept on selling after a long time because they all had some random effect.

The best way to lose weight gradually is to eat slightly less and move slightly more. I don't think that losing weight quickly will really help at all.

it is just me? or whenever i fall asleep, i wake up really really hungry. even if i just went to lunch half hour ago and i just fell asleep for like ten minute, i'm still be ravenous...

is it just mind tricks? or does digestion speed up when asleep? cause sometimes i doubt its a mind trick. i wolfed down 4 chicken sandwichs once, because i fell asleep, woke up ate a sandwich, slept for 30 mins, another sandwich...so on...

and i was still hungry by the time for dinner eek
