It's Etiquette but I've always wanted to say Itadakimasu at some Japanese restaurant...always chickened out.

I would looove the opportunity to say Do itashi mashte akin to "You are welcome" but never met someone who would say Arigato to me 😔

When something happens in the first episode/chapter, and someone says "This is gonna get interesting..." It makes me wanna go in the anime/manga and slap them, because you can tell that those people are almost always gonna become the Captain Obvious of the story.

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.

Lines like
I'll work harder!/I'll never give up! etc.
I love you, in random or very cliche moments.
You're my rival! I'll defeat you, never give in, etc.And the classic shoujo:
Why do I feel like this?
Why is my heart pounding?
hahaa- so true.
hmm.
Also- when characters say "thank you" for random stuff that wouldn't normally be thanked for and the mangaka turns it into a really "deep" moment. hahaa. Situation really plays a big part. I guess the authors just use these types of lines as plugs for when they run outta ideas. Sorta sad.

I just finished watching a dorama that placed great importance/significance on "aisatsu", those things like tadaima/okairi, itadakimasu, etc. that may seem so overused to non-Japanese but are really an important part of their everyday culture.
Based on other Japanese tv shows I've watched, "masaka!" and "sugoi!" are also VERY commonly used, along with "oishi!" They may qualify as overused in manga, but in this case manga seems to imitate reality~ 🤣

This is way too easy. I see this in yaoi all the time:
"I'm already at my limit."
This applies to shoujo/yaoi:
"Don't touch her/him, she/he's mine!"
Overused lines like these make me laugh. 🤣

In the majority of yaoi manga:
Why do I like him?! He's a guy!
Because we all know that the power of a well groomed bishie can turn even the straitest of men gay!
Yup ^^
***"Even if you say that..." ***is a weird one. It just doesn't sound right in English.
Neither does** "That is..." aka* "Sore wa..."***
Almost forgot:
Seme: "Let your voice out"
Uke: **"But it's embarassing..." **
in every other yaoi sex scene

I hate 'you're a hundred years too early' - it just doesn't seem natural in English. Also 'That's my line' and 'Don't decide things on your own' seem way too overused. My absolute pet hate is I'll never ever give up and I'm already at my limit/I can't go on appears a lot in action manga as well and yet somehow they manage to continue to fight and usually miraculously win. I actually start wishing for the hero to lose at that point.
The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.
