Cut out the fillers and the 25 minutes powering up that weren't in the manga.

Yeah, I hope that I can actually watch the whole thing through this time without wasting about 5 hours on every preparation-for-an-upcoming-fight.

If they don't cut out story that happened in the manga, great. But somehow I doubt that 2/3 of the episodes contain filler.

Still, it would be nice to see it in japanese. Don't know if there was a group subbing it the first time it aired.

The anime actually did. Example. Goku turning super saiyan took quite a while in the anime. In the manga? It was about 3 pages long. Super saiyan 3? That took a whole 2 pages in the manga. Not the what 8 minutes or something in the anime? Dragonball z had 325 chapters. each about 15 pages long. The anime had 291 episodes. each 20 minutes long. Please tell me you can see why most of the series was filler.

If you want practice subbing your own anime, you could try on this one. I personally tried subbing a one piece episode using the manga translation and my paltry understanding of japanese, and the timing is what bothered me the most...playing the same scene over and over to get the timing right. I think I got a minute worth of dialog(it was the episode where Usopp uses his super fireball attack against the ghost girl). It only made me respect sub groups even more.

I know, but there are some people who haven't seen all of the anime or read all of the manga. Some of my friends and two of my little brothers are examples of that. I've been trying to find the episodes we don't have yet, but it's hard. And seeing how this is Dragonball Z, it's very likely that some group will sub it.

This is actually really amazing, I once planned on watching all the episodes of dragonball but stopped because of the daunting number. I don't think they'll reduce the quality of this one. 100 episodes is a lot if the pace is right. Just imagine Code Geass with 100 episodes, ayt?
