Both ^^ but sometimes I do get mixed up if they change the avatar.

I'll glance to the side and if I recognize the avatar, I know who it is. If it's different, then I check the name.

I go away and suddenly the spammers are the mods. Okay, I can adjust to that, but... Gorath?! And what's up with Mam's not being the top poster?

i remember everyone from their names.. even if i don't remember the whole name at least i remember the parts of it 😛

Usually it is by avatar but I but both because sometimes I remember their name mostly because they are on a certain part of the fourms like music for ahoaho

The handful of avid posting members by both, the remaining members usually by avatar, sometimes by name.

Usually by nickname. But, that doesn't mean I exactly remember them... Avatar is a little too hard since people change them frequently.

i remeber most members by their signature because they rarely change

I tend to remember them by their last post. After a while though, I forget everyone so I chose the fourth.

Since avatars are inifinitedly more noticeable than the usernames, which blend in with the background, I notice avatars first, but I also rarely forget usenames if I've talked with a person or read several of their posts.

Like most others, I look at the avatar first but if I don't recognize it then I will look at the name. Sometimes the sig gives it away too.
