I love it when both halves of the couple are in complete denial. and romantically retarded.

I hope you're lying.

Hm. I like the cute ones where everyone's happy (like the couple's already together) and there's hardly any troubles really. Like Toukage Ouji! So cute :3

I like it if the story isn't focused on the romance, like it is there, but it's subtle. In-your-face-mushy-angsty romance turns me off. Fluffy-comedy-shoujo romance is good once in a while though, especially if it's cute.

A hopelessly one-sided one.

Those that aren't obvious [some exceptions]

I also like series where the romance takes the backseat, and it isn't the main focus of the story ^^

I completely HATE harems though. KILL ME PLEASE.

That's probably why I don't like Akamatsu series... -__-

........well, yea.

I also like the one you mentioned, where they're coping with a problem and they're not exactly together. Except Mars is an exception. I gotta say though, Kira and Rei from Mars got together out of nowhere. When they suddenly mentioned they were dating, I was flabbergasted. "wtf? when did they start dating?!" Still liked the story though. ^^

Enough about mars!

I also like where love blooms. ;D And it's not just about lust. You're FRIENDS with the person before you start liking them. Not where a girl/guy meets a person and immediately decides "I WANT THEM"

Y'KNOW?

Why? those are my all time favorites. That's my favorite gossip IRL too. 😛

I'm just a little annoyed by them. The characters act self-destructively and hurt each other so unnecessarily, when if they were just honest the story could make some actual progress.

Sometimes it's nice being surprised by who the main character ends up with, yeah. I tend to bang my head a bit when I recall that this was the case--slightly--in Regency Buck. Kill me now.
The "in denial and clueless" ones are fine, as long as they don't continue like that for too long. I wonder if Kyoko in Skip Beat will exceed my tolerance level? I doubt it. It'll be too much fun on the way...
And the "love at first sight"...urk. I'd rather have antipathy at first sight, thanks much. Or first words, anyway. First sight is a little harder to arrange. Barely.
Harems...I'd rather the main couple be surrounded by lots of other people who are pairing up with someone else. That way everyone's happy, right? My goal in fiction. Everybody happy, and if only world domination will satisfy you, would that be real happiness? (Although if you're a Vetinari, go ahead. Everyone will happier under your rule. Probably. Vetinari's better off in a city anyway. He can creepily know who everybody is.)

LOL...too funny!!

The whole "love at first sight" thing is so overdone in romance novels that I've mostly given up on reading them, except for a few authors, so I have a pretty low tolerance for it in manga as well.

Everyone ends up happy....now that is my kind of story! 😀

...But I love the "Love at First Sight" thing, just like I love the whole "Love can conquer any problem that you face" thing... of course, i've always loved that stuff, it just gives u so much hope! 🙂

I guess i like basically all kind of romance plots. Hmm...

I guess i kinda like the one where there is one person who claims to have always loved the other, just never had courage to say it. throughout the entire story, they just keep bumping into each other by accident, hands touch while helping the other pick up their books... and the other always learns to love so the feeling is mutual, and then they reveal it to each other at some point. I guess i always like it if they both like each other at the point of admitting, as it means that they can be together without any troubles.

Ah... how i always adore the first kiss... 😛

I also like the super-stalker thing in Mirai Nikki, but that is because i see the whole stalking thing as a kind of a turn-on... 😳

Love is precious, and i love happy endings best. 😛

i dont like those whole love circle things, or things where someone has to choose. I can't stand to think how horrible it must feel to not be picked by the person you love... While the couple will be happy, what about the rest! Happy ending? for who!? It's a horrible thing to play with someone's heart like that! 😢

I really had to think hard for this one. And probably later I think the right one, but for now.

One thing is that the characters dont like each other in the beginning. Along the way the just grow closer and face hardships and hurt each other and realise love is something deeper and has dark parts too. They dont show that love can be very cruel too in shoujo mangas.

I like ones that are school related and i usually go for the love-triangles even though i'm always yelling at the manga saying "no! he isn't the one for you!" (you should have seen me with Absolute Boyfriend lol) but i find that half the fun because it keeps you guessing (even if sometimes its obvious).

One that i really liked was KouKou Debut because it put a twist on school shoujo cliches.

If i'm bored and can't find any excellent shoujo, i end up reading a lot of cliche stuff, but i can only stand it for at the most 3 volumes 🤣
