So you were watching an anime or reading a manga when suddenly find you are hypnotized into craving a food the characters were eating. Does this happen to you? If so, what food and which series?

I found myself munching on various types of pocky and drinking ichigo milk or ramune.

so i tried to find ramen. (none). and so i eat noodle with naruto! smart me! <33

gotta say naruto with his ramen obsession made me curious to what it really was like

I liked cup ramen even before naruto. Possibly cause my family loves soup. So if you're lazy cup ramen is the easiest choice. Favourite brand is NISSIN. I love the dried toppins inside like sweet peas and corn. I like to pick those out and eat a few dried ones before I add the hot water. lol. 😛

I've eaten ramen as far back as I can remember. Instant Ramen is really cheap!! 😀

I've been cooking Japanese meals for two years now, all thanks to anime and manga. The fresh home made ramen soup is still my favourite but it doesn't exactly look like Ichiraku's!

Ohoh there's this chinese owned supermarket where I live and I go there cause they have a wide variety of asian stuff. Soy sauce, oyster sauce, teriyaki, all the suces you can think of. Also they have a section devoted to rice and noodles. I had no idea there were so many varietys. My favourite is probably jasmine but it's really expensive there but worth it. Also they have the fancier intant ramen you know the ones that come with the thicker noodles and they have their own sesame oil to sprinkle on top the ramen. You can make those little fish things with the swirl (their called naruto btw) and add your own vegetables. Deelicious. 😛 (the emoticon shows me licking my lips) 🤣

I don't really have access to the other kinds of foods, but I'd love to try some. Takoyaki, especially; well, actually, I wouldn't mind trying any of the "-yaki"s. They sound very tasty 😛

Onomiyaki, Takoyaki a lot of food's have yaki in theiir names. I wonder why? Maybe yaki means something like food or something. Oh well I'll encounter its meaning eventually. 😛

As far as I know, yaki means grilled so yakitori is grilled chicken, takoyaki grilled octopus etc...
I've tried takoyaki once, it was the weirdest thing I've eaten, spongy with hard bits inside 🤢
Still want to try the fresh ones though

pocky was another anime influenced food as well
always saw it on the shelf at the local asian supermarket but never really tried it until... 😛

Yeah you're getting it mixed up with something elde I know it but I just can't remember. Oh well I guess Loupiotte wants to try tako balls. It makes sense that it means grilled now that I think about it. Okonomiyaki is the japanese alternative to pizza and i'm pretty sure it's grilled. Takoyaki are octopus balls like he said. 😛

Oh and there was the Ramune drink. The soda with the ball inside. I spent a hour breaking it out. 😛
