The thing is, how do you know where it's "interesting" or "boring"?
I read from the start, regardless of anything.
Also, different people find different things to be interesting or boring.
Don't know about manga, but had things like that with books.
War and peace for example, has romantic parts, that deal with relationships and etc', and has parts about war, descriptions and so on...
I thought the war parts were pretty boring... My father, when he first read it, read and enjoyed those parts.
And in Master and Margarita they had those parts with jesus which I couldn't stand and wanted to get over with as soon as possible...
The thing is, most of the times those parts bare meaning to the story, and you rather read them from the start and get over with what you find boring.
After I read those books again, I skipped the parts I didn't like and that was fine, because I already knew them...
But when you read something for the first time, you should read everything.
Who knows, maybe it's something important and you'll get lost as the story progresses?
And as I say, you can't fully appreciate great things without bad things.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

I read the interesting parts first then I read the whole story. I started Hana Yori Dango with the second book because it was so interesting so now I never know which happened first, the stuff in the first book or the stuff in the second book. I don't have trouble like that with other stories, series, etc. though. I don't know why.
I can start stories or almost any media (except music) from anywhere interesting because I use the same approach as for people. You won't know everything about a person when you first meet them and you don't try so why should you worry about it in a story? But i usually start over again from the beginning if I really like the story, after I've read all the interesting parts of course.

I also prefer reading manga from the beginning. Although sometimes when getting hooked on a manga, I'd read a few pages (5 pages the most) of the current chapter, and if I find it interesting I'd read the manga from the beginning, like I did for Fairy Tail. I read the first 81 chapters in two days before continuing the story because I wouldn't get it, and by reading the beginning you get background information. <3

Always start from the beginning. Though if I'm reading for a second time I skip the boring arcs coughRescueGaaracough >_>
I start from the beginning so I can fully understand. I'll bare with the boring parts T_T

I ALWAYS start from the beginning and rarely, if ever, skip forward. i just end up staying up late, forsaking sleep and food until it either stops being so captivating or ends, whichever is first. Not so bad with manga since a volume isn't so long but when I read western novels I can end up not sleeping or eating or even moving much for a few days sometimes depending on the size of the book/series I'm egrossed in. I never start midway with anything, like I won't watch a tv series if I miss an episode. I hate it in case I miss something. I hate to watch tv unless I'm on my own or have subtitles on just because I hate to miss so much as a word, I am that bad. So yeah, I start from the beginning every time.
The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.
