Maybe it's just me, but I think there is a distinct difference on being afraid of being shot by a lunatic and being afraid of death...
Plus it's stupid to offhandedly dismiss others as "full of shit" based on one opinion. But maybe that's just me again.

I'm pretty sure it's human instinct to be afraid of death. It's a survival mechanism for us to try to avoid pain, suffering and death to ourselves so we can continue to fight each other in the survival for the fittest... that's how it is in the world of nature at least =/

im afraid of a painful death does that count? not really afraid of being dead though considering that i was technically "dead" before i was ever born and didnt really suffer any inconvenience from it really......of course assuming that we atheist are wrong and there is an afterlife then i guess i should be afraid huh? really comes down to whether or not u mean the act of dying or the concept of being dead. oh, and in response to the guy who said about the gun and the murderer either he wants to kill u in which case ur going to die anyway or he doesnt which means u dont really have a reason to be afraid right?

Actually survival of the fittest doesn't necessarily mean that you have to live longest or be the strongest, it just means that you have to leave lots of progenies, at least the original meaning is.

Well I certainly don't like pain and would want to avoid it. But death in itself, I think isn't scary... maybe exciting if someone believes in an afterlife? Depends on one's belief.

dying doesnt reli mean a painful death. maybe if u slept... and u were like aroun the age of 100's and u jus never woke up. ^^x then that wudnt b scary wud it?? ^^x the thing that scares ppl is the guns and the knifes... and all that kinda stuff.... u see on movies. that makes ppl scared of dying. the painful things u see on the movies and tv's. so to put it... ppl are not afraid of dying. but afraid of pain... or goin thru pain. ^^x havin a gun pointed at u. means u gonna go thru a lot of pain. ^^x once that bullet launches.. Hmm... I'm not sure about that. If a person gets shot through the head, their brain is dead, so no more feeling. But, it's not a natural death. I think natural deaths such as old age or sickness is usually not as scary... but I wouldn't know. I haven't had natural near death experiences yet...

well u wudnt kno if a gunshot 2 the head is painful or not... bt jus from watchin movies and stuff. it looks painful. thatz y ppl r scared of bein pointed wit a gun. or if about 2 b shot. the visual effects change the way we look at things.... jus by seeing cars exploding from crashing and stuf.. in reality i dun think its possible. even if the car tumbles and stuff. it wont explode. petrol doesnt explode like that. and by usin electricity running thru rivers... and lakes... it wont shock any1. the water has 2 contain some electrolyte. some chemicles to b able 2 conduct electricity. bt death is not scary.. bt how u die is. ^^x if u suffer from cancer.. and died... the suffering wud b very scary if u can experience it. or if there wud b movies that actually show the sufferin of dying cancer ppl. bt u wud require a very good actor to do it. ^^x

I voted no because from a very young age dying has always been apart of my family between the ages of 5 - 8 i had over 20 family members and friends die and even more since so the thought of dying doesn't scare me more or less is what comes after because even though i was raise baptist i dont really believe in god but im not atheist
(its kinda hard to explain) but im really afraid that when i die that there will be nothing. thats it just nothing and whats more because there is just nothing i wont know if i have died or not and thats what scares me. 🙁

I think I would be afraid because I don't know what would happen. He wouldn't necessarily kill you. You could be kidnapped, tortured, raped and then dumped. And still be alive.

yeah, you are right, that makes me wonder, there are things scarier than death out there.
To WhyBee, somehow i understand your point, i was surprised to see the results of the poll (i didn´t vote), there were more people who voted "no" than people who voted "yes" when my common sense said to me that it would be the inverse. Not to have fear to death now doesn´t mean you won´t ever fear death, so at least to me it´s really hard to pick between "yes" or "no" (maybe yes would be a more rational and logical answer)

i wouldn't be scared of dying i were under torture.. but i have a nice life so i am very very scared of dying 😮 i still have many things to experience

I should have died plenty of times, so I am not really worried...

and after life?

I have 2 options

Non existence: I just disappear, banish, my kids/grandkids remember me for a while, but then PUFF like I never existed (SUCKS)

Go to the bad plays of most Religions and enjoy (yeah) an ethernity of pain and punishment (I kind of like this one more, because even if I am suffering, the fact that I lived still remains)

I could go with a third option and that is to be EVIL, and cause great harm, I mean everyone remembers Hitler and he just caused the dead of a few millions, maybe If I cause the dead of a few "Billions", the people will never forget me 😲

THAT if there is people left 🤣
