I'm not afraid of dying as much as I am of dying PAINFULLY so i'm pretty cool with dying, it can even take a long time as long as it's not painful. Hmmm.... i do wonder what happens after death.
😕
I'm quite curious to find out(just not anytime soon). 🙂
Death is inevitable, so fearing it is foolish.

I am on the contrary... I am afraid of dying, but I would risk my life to save somebody, like I did in the past.

Would you prefer to die suddenly, or know beforehand roughly when you'll die? You know, would you like time to say goodbye and stuff like that?
I go away and suddenly the spammers are the mods. Okay, I can adjust to that, but... Gorath?! And what's up with Mam's not being the top poster?

That is a difficult question, for me, i would prefer to be able to say goodbye, even if that means to suffer more. It´s hard not to be able to do what you wanted to before dying.
I´m not afraid of dying right now, but still, i think humans fear death more when they know their time is soon to come, so i can´t say a won´t be afraid of dying when it´s my turn. If i have to choose between saving my life or giving up mine to save another life, even if i have to choose i would try to save both (becouse i know how my family will feel if i die, and i know how it feels to lose someone loved) and if i can´t well, i would end up giving up my life, i´m not that selfish.

There's no reason to be afraid of death. Instead, I am curious about death, and want to die purely to see what it's like.
Don't be suicidal!
Anyways, about the comment about older people earlier, I once skimmed a psychology book and found that they are less afraid of death than younger people - they are probably more religious because they have more time to ponder morals and more desire to as they prepare to die.
I'm curious, yes, but I'm not impatient. My curiosity extends to many other realms as well, which my be hard to explore while dead, so I'm not going to be jumping in front of buses anytime soon.
Anyway, older people have less need to worry about accomplishing their dreams, and once they've accomplished what they must, they can more easily accept an end.

the way i see it, all those different religions with their different afterlife promises, are just some weak stories for people who are afraid of dying and need something to hold on to.
I agree. I believe that since the beginning of civilized people, people have been making religions to try to lessen the fear of everyone's inevitable death. It's great to have a religion, and im not trying to prove anyones religion wrong, but religion to me is fake.
As to whether or not I'm afraid of dying, yah I am. I'm sure at one point of time, everyone will be afraid of death and the thought of whether or not there is actually an afterlife(unless your a huge religious fanatic). The reason is, is because right now, there is no proof to an afterlife and I'm sure it scares many people to just be erased from existence.
Well I don't really know which religion is the right one, why or what's the purpose of living or dying, I also think that death is a sad thought because It's like you are leaving the ones you love and the things you would have love to do behind. Also the thought of wanting or not to die changes from one to another, because If you were beddriven or emo, you might want to kill yourself and "end your suffering"; At least I still want to live and do so many things that I don't really want to worry about death even if It's inevitable.
I don't really have a clearly religion fate because I respect everyone of them and don't really know who's "right or wrong" it all changes because of our points of view, surroundings and things we have been through and we have identified with in that religion. For example, my cousins and grandma are jehova's witness, my other uncle is a non-religious one, my father family is catholic, my other aunt is christian, my mother is more spiritual-catholic type and we still get along very well. We don 't really go every sunday to church, etc. But I do think that the religion is a very delicate subject and that you don't really have to be of only one religion or point of view to understand god. I consider myself lucky because even though I have never seen god, nor ghosts, I have seen spirits through my mother (she's a medium type of person) and experience some strange things also. I do believe in afterlife, I do believe in spirits and in god, because I have seen some of them personally, even an angel! and a very good friend of mine called "Aurora" who is a sweet girl who died very young but have helped me through difficult times and even knew what I did one night before I spoke with her, even though everyone was asleep and even told me some of my future! And I know they're hearing me and that everything has it's reasons for it to happen.
Some may believe it, some won't. I also didn't want to believe xx thing or xx event because It may change my point of view about my life or a story, so I think that this saying is sometimes right:
"A man sees only what he wants to see"
"Happiness is something you search for, don't wait for it anymore"
Cool.. 😀 I want to see an angel too.. 🤣

I'd probably like to know before hand. I'm not afraid of dieing, I'm more afraid of being hospitaliced breathing through a tube and all that without being able to die. I don't want to be like that. Same with amputating an arm or whatever, I'd rather just die. I'd curse every second if I'd get kept alive against my will. Damn humanitarians >:-( I'd do whatever I could just to kill myself. A life without the freedom to move is not for me.
Hope I get reborn into a better family.. Can always hope something like that would happen 😃
This life sucked. Where's the reset button?

The question is a bit weird to be honest. Right now, with our calm minds and peaceful lives, we of course say that we are not afraid to die, however we have never ever been close to death, that's why we say that.
Anyway, I say that I am afraid of dying. How I can say that for absolute certainty? Well, I had a dream that someone was threatening me with a gun at point blank range. That man looked like a gangster. He was smiling sadistically. I am absolutely sure that I was scared over the fact that my life was just a trigger away. The disturbing thing is that this happened years ago and I still recall it. It was not hazy as the usual dreams. The only possible case I would not be afraid of death (I said possibility, not certainty) would be the death from old age. But since I am far from old, this could very well translate to hypocrisy.

Calm minds? Peaceful lives? That isn't guaranteed to be truthful with any of us.

With peaceful, he probably meant not being in a area where there's war and strife.. (I think)..

I am. And I never thought anything about dying. I'm 18 now and like everyone life has gone up and down many times.
Independent if there is other things after you're dead, I hope I can do a lot of things first, like: travel abroad, marry and have kids.
But the numbers of "No!" is really surprising for me

I have felt the fear that comes with being close to death once in my past, and it was absolutely terrifying. I think everybody is nervous/afraid when they're dying. That's just natural, and normal.
There are some exceptions though... if you're too drugged out to know what's going on you won't be afraid... also some 'near death experiencers' die for a while, revive, and most lose all fear of death
The real question is do you spend your living moments beforehand scared/worried about inevitable death in the future
I prefer to simply not think about death much. Thinking about it is wasting the precious present moment. When I'm dying, I'll worry about it then.
