I've read ecchi with explicit views of labia, nipples, and buttocks (usually accidentally exposed), but I've never read smut with the male's lower body in view. O_O
That really bugs me. A lot of ecchi titles have good art (though not all of them) to show those stuff, while a lot of smut titles have poor messy art and show nothing, esp. on the males' side. O_O Aren't they supposed to be fanservice for females?
I really agree with u...they should combine it lol

Or at least they should improve the art in shoujo. I could give a long list of shounen/seinen titles with pretty and detailed art, no weird looking proportions and messy panels, and with backgrounds, drawn by female mangakas (so the reason for poor art is not authors' gender).
A lot of shounen mangas actually have better-looking and real bishies than shoujo. 😮

it's a no for me, it sort of ruins the whole story. it's like the whole story is just abt the two having sex without the plot really developing:/

Nay... usually it depends but in general I hate the idea of some sort of rapist ending up with the heroine... the only smut I enjoyed was Akkan Baby.

Sometimes. Although I enjoy smut, too much of it will become a big turn off since I'm more of a romantic.

I'm only 13, so I'd rather not taint my mind with smut in manga. I think that if the author is really good enough, they can make the story sweet and intimate without being overly sexual. Series like Vampire Knight, and Skip Beat! are sensual (Skip Beat not so much, except in the episode "Crime Scene" and the "Vie Ghoul/Stalker" arc, etc) without the characters ever actually having sex.

One good one I read with what you are looking for was Object of Desire as well as most of the manga that Luv Luv publishing puts out. But that one specifically was the most graphic SMUT not Hentai, that I've read.

Well, of course it depends!
For the most part, I guess I wouldn't care too much. Smut is smut. It doesn't affect me too much(smut is so ridiculous, it's funny at times!) It's comedic relief(coughYoshihara Yuki cough) And Cosplay Animal was something like this too. It was a fun read!
But Shinjo Mayu is where I draw the line. And Manami Kanan does some slightly more disturbing smut as well. I can honestly say that I would have done well not to read certain titles, but I'll live.

Well, with art like that, it shouldn't have any graphic sex scenes since it will only make the manga look horrible. 🤢 All characters and their bodies look weird - that's one of the things I hate most about shoujo/josei (the art). Like I said, I don't see how poorly drawn inexplicit sex scenes can be exciting.

Really really good.
This goes back to the earlier discussion in this thread about the definition of smut, but I don't think that Tramps Like Us counts. It is a very good manga, though.
