Hello, I'm looking for mangas where the roles taken are rather... surprising. Basically, the character who would appear to be top isn't and the one who would appear to be bottom doesn't.

Or the pretty boy topping the character far manlier than himself.

The best two examples I have are Kyokan Hunter and Kizudarake no Airabuyuu.

I have looked into their respective categories, seme-like uke and uke-like seme but I haven't been able to find many that were already translated into English.

Kiken na Otonarisan? This one surprised me, anyway. Hopefully there will be more suggestions, because I like ones like this... I just can't remember any of them sigh

Basically all of MISHIMA Kazuhiko's work can be considered this way. The uke's are always younger looking and before I got use to her style I was sure that the older looking ones were going to be the Seme's. Her art is really pretty, too.

Definitely Kawaii Akuma.

These are examples of what I call "Topping from the Bottom", in which the seme is the younger man, but the older partner is in control of the relationship:

Other examples, where the seme is younger, shorter, or just seems like he'd be the uke:
Arashi no Ato - this one sparked a discussion in another thread, about how we kept forgetting which was the seme

Renai Shinan! - he looks like a seme, but the uke has to tell him what to do 🤣

Bousou Kareshi, in several of the stories

You might also try the category "Older Uke Younger Seme". This NAONO Bohra's speciality. There is a couple like this in her Ren'ai Nenrei

I've seen some with the bear-type uke, but I can't remember them right now. 😢

😲 😲 😲 This is one of my favorites, and somehow I didn't pick up on the fact that the hyper-masculine tattooed yakuza was the uke. Nezushi, you are indeed correct. That explains certain lines of dialogue that I had puzzled over. 🤣
