Yeah, basically, I'm looking for a good ol'-fashioned whumping of a (preferably cute) male MC (or even a prominent supporting character). Physical and/or mental/emotional abuse are all fine. I'd prefer it if he grows stronger as a result, though not before being pretty broken up.

I'm fine with any genre/demographic, but I tend not to be very interested in mecha, martial arts, or sports. I'm okay with yaoi suggestions as long as they have a good story. Extra points for series that are psychological and focus on the character's mental state. Also, no Shounen Jump or other weekly shounen series please (with the exception of weekly webtoons).

J no Subete, I guess. One of those rare yaoi that has anything even remotely psychologically realistic in it.
Also, Zankoku na Kami ga Shihaisuru, which is not really BL at all, despite the tags.
