My labeling might be abit off, but oh well, it will have to do.

Wow this type must be more common then I thought. Any you would strongly recommend?

Oh and if any need an example (or are using this topic for self reference) Tsukihime fits closely.

My 2 cents:

World Embryo I think it's my best recommendation I can give. Maybe not so dark as Tsukihime, but good if you like Moriyama style.

I really wasn't referring to the tone of Tsukihime, but the relationship between Shiki and Arcueid, where he has no knowledge of the world of vampires and Arcueid shows him.

Even Riku didn't know anythin about the existance of "Kanshu" until he got that text message and meet these guys, that point is the same for both manga. All the manga I listed had that thing in common, I was just describing it a little to explain you how it was.

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. This fits perfectly:
Ressentiment

Nearly suggested that but I couldn't quite remember if it fit xD

I'm not a shoujo fan, but I quite enjoy Cat Street, it's about a girl who doesn't come out of her room for various reasons until, well, you can imagine, but thankfully it's not too cliché or cheesy.

It's a less extreme NHK ni Youkoso! (which I highly recommend).

Huh, after I read your description I though of I Can't Take it Anymore! It's about a really straight laced kid who has never done anything but study, is the VP of the student council, never gets in trouble who is fed up with always being a good kid, he wishes to do something rebellious at least once in his life so he decides that he is going to make friends with the school's trouble maker. So he bleaches his hair to brown, buys some new clothing and gives it a try. But he isn't really ready for what happens, he's still the same kid inside, and is a bit slow to pick up on things.

It's seven volumes long, and it really could have ended at six, the seventh was sort of useless but I liked it over all. Be warned it is shounen-ai in the end though. I do think that how the site recommends Ichi the Killer as a read with it is amusing. Also how it recommends Under Grand Hotel which does introduce the main character to a whole new world, a world of prison rape.

Any way, as for things other have already mentioned, Welcome to the NHK! is a great read.

Air Gear - The main character enters the "world" of ATs. And if you look at it from a normal person's view, it's basically a completely new world. One where people can fly on rollerblades and move so fast that you can make fire.

Since so many others have been named already, I can only think of this one.

Haha, sorry. Hmm, I don't remember if it was actually yaoi as in there was sex or not though. It may have just been shounen-ai, maybe not. It's been a while since I read it, so I don't remember if there are any sex scenes, since that's not really something I care about. If there was one though it would have been in volume 6, so not for a while. Anyway, sorry to crush your hopes like that.

There is still Welcome to the N.H.K. though, which not in any way related to the previous manga, is really good, if depressing.
