I like pretty much any manga series or any anime episodes if they're good and have good art..(And aren't dubbed)

I'm so totally not an anime/manga elitist it's not funny.

My favorite medium from a manga/anime series is almost always the english dub version of the anime (I love watching something in my own language and not having to read at all). I feel no shame in liking mainstream series (Bleach in particularly). In cases where the anime and manga for a series differ I'm not afraid to say the anime is better if it is.

Then again, I'm not really an elitist when it comes to anything... well except music, than I can be pretty snobbish.

I try everything. I don't even know what's mainstream or what's not when it comes to manga. If I like it then I read it...who cares what others think of it.

I kind of feel possessive though when something I like which wasn't well-known before suddenly gets exposure and becomes everyone else's favorite. 😮

Yes, I'm. Of course, I do. No, I always give a chance to a manga, but usually uber-popular titles disappoint me. No, sometimes anime version is better even if it strays from the plot, but often not.

There are indeed some series which I simply cannot stand, but at the same time I am not afraid to admit that I do in fact enjoy Manga such as Naruto, which are often dubbed as being 'childish' and generally ridiculed by others.

I give everything a chance, and if I'm against a series then there's usually good reason to my opinions.

nah i watch Naruto and Bleach (though i've been regretting it for the past 2-3 arcs).......and have been for a few years, although at one point time....well a couple points in time i did drop them for a few months, but i don't think it's elitism just that the fillers tend to suck.........but yeah, i believe no matter how popular a show or how unpopular a show, you judge it by it's content: plot, characters, character development, enjoyability etc......rather then judge it buy its popularity, and if a manga is popular, don't you think it's popular for a reason??...it had to of been something good about it at some point......but with that said popular mangas just tend to fall off for some reason, from Bleach and Naruto to Gantz, and Berserk.....but yeah, to wrap it i just give a manga/anime the props it deserves, Popular or Unpopular......Mainstream or Underground

...I suppose I am...I'm pretty much a snob when it comes to anime or manga. My parents even call me an anime snob because I come home and make fun of people from our anime club (they are really scary >.<)

My friend and I use to have a locker next to the anime club and we would make fun of them...and also make fun of ourselves of course for knowing what they were cosplaying as that day lol. Actually after we watched the Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala and saw Hitler in anime form or as we call him "A.H." (Anime Hitler) we wanted to post a picture of it on the anime club's door with the saying "A.H. owns your base!"

...but then we figured that was a little too mean...actually it was more that we were scared they might come and kill us because those people are scary (although they probably would have never guess it was us).

I mostly am just a snob because I'm sick of people judging me once I say I like anime just because there are a lot of annoying people who watch anime in my school.

So anyway this probably makes me sound like a jerk...and I guess I am one when it comes to most anime dubs...but I just prefer things in their original context...or voices...

I don't avoid things that are popular.

Usually they are popular for a reason.

Other than that, I am very particular about what I read, and rarely read anything more than 5 volumes, unless is really good.

Which is weird because I'm a pretty hardcore elitist when it comes to music. But manga/anime i don't mind if its popular at all. The popularity only means i can buy sweet merchandise lol. I don't make fun of narutards either, although they can be pretty obnoxious...
