On Topic: I would take a criminal on death role and sacrifice him. I'm you put other so i suppose someone has to die so why not someone who will die anyway. lol It's still sad to let someone die though but they can save the world and repent for all the people they killed.

I would talk to the person close to me. Tell them exactly what's going on. If this person is as trusting as I am, they would really consider sacrificing him/her self. Whether they choose to be sacrificed or not doesn't matter in the end actually. I'll end up sacrificing myself anyways (if that really is an option). I would just want to know whether or not the person I'm taking the place of is worth it, in a sense. Of course, before I sacrifice myself, I would really make it clear that this person needs to live on for the both of us. Not to feel guilty (although I'm sure they will), or at least not let the guilt run their life.

If it gets to point where the person really doesn't want me to take their place, but is willing to be sacrificed, I'll honor his/her wish, reluctantly.

Actually, I didn't mean to offend your logic. I was surprised but I also did think your logic made sense. In a funny sort of way, but I do think you have a point. ^_^

Im not really offended (internet speak is hard) but i get that most people wouldnt choose ending the entire world as opposed to killing one person. it makes sense.

i would still choose my original answer though. (good thing im not in a position of power)

Meh, depends who it is. For instance, if it was one of my parents, I would let them go. Not cuz I don't love them like crazy, but because 1) I know they wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice themselves for me, 2) I'd rather them not live with the guilt of knowing their daughter died for them (cuz then their life would be miserable) and 3) They are older which means their time is less than their daughter's. If it was a friend (depending what friend it was <3) I'd prolly sacrifice myself after a bit of cowardly/unsure-ness. I'd never let the world end due to my own selfishness... Well I mean unless I like ruled the world, then it's fine }|D...

Hmmm prolly go through with the sacrifice. After all even if i don't...the world is screwed, as for taking the place of said person...depends but prolly not, being sacrificed isn't something you can easily recover from. =(

Unfortunately, it seems to me that most people would destroy the whole world instead of killing one person. It seems we are a species built on gut feelings, rather than logic.

Let's see, if the person is an a**hole, of course. If it is a person I care about, then I still would (that is, if the person didn't sacrifice themselves first).

But the one question I have to ask is, what prevents the world from ending anyway? That's the whole game changer right there.

to "save" one i love from death i would do anything i can
if that means i have to sacrifice myself then so be it

by doing this i can save everyone i love
so...of course i would do it
without hesitation
