What would happen to you if manga was made illegal AND there was no way for you to get your hands on any? I personally would go on living jaded and with a big hole in my soul.

Just assuming the US were to ban anime/manga, I would probably be extremely angry, call it a social injustice, and start/join a lawsuit on the grounds of freedom of speech.

If you mean that there was no way for me to get my hands on it ever (i.e. Japan exploding in flames or something), then I would probably become bitter and turn to another form of entertainment, all the while griping about the "glory days" when quality entertainment was produced by Japanese companies. Like that crazy old guy that rants on the bus about how he "used to be happy just staring at the wall when he was a kid."

Or something like that.
