As expected Japanese is storming ahead though I thought America would clock up a few more votes. I'm surprised at the number for European though.

American, my private school bought American textbooks including history, till about grade seven where it was mandatory to have Canadian. I know good bit of Japanese, Chinese, Englsih (ancestors) and French(ancestors). A lot of the fiction I read has history lesson bits, plus knowing a bit helps understand the story.

ha, I am afraid that I can't claim that I know many cultures beside my own since I am always reading and watching every thing which is interesting so I might have a very scattered knowledge regarding cultures. however, I guess after my own culture, I know Russian/Ukrainian culture the best (since childhood I have read countless books from Russian writers, have watched their movies, listened to their music, talked with their people here and there and etc, etc...) and of course don't forget Japanese. since I am a manga maniac, I have learned too much about Japan through reading their works even if it wasn't my intention from the beginning. 🤣

Quote from CuthienSilmeriel
*Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a
Belgian beer, and then traveling home, grabbing an Indian curry
or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch
American shows on a Japanese TV. And the most British thing of all...Suspicion of anything foreign.*
rofl, that was just awesome 🤣
Despite all my traveling over the years, I feel like I know more about the Japanese culture than any other. French culture is kinda high though since I practically lived there for a while, but still outclassed by the Japanese. And it feels kinda odd that I probably know more Japanese than German, which I actually studied in school for 4 years :> (only ~2 years worth of listening to Japanese through anime).
I almost know more about Japanese culture than my own when I think about it -.-'
This life sucked. Where's the reset button?

I wouldn't say I know any 'best' aside from my own, but I do know more about the British and Japanese Cultures versus any of the others, aside from my own, of course.

Thanks but the quote is quite famous in Britain at least, it's done the round in emails a few times since it was first published in the paper.
