Series that just by reading their summaries became completely unappealing to you

Most series have that effect on me, so nowadays when I'm looking for something new to read or watch I just download the first chapter or episode without reading the summary. I've found some good stuff I would never have tried that way, like Hidan no Aria.

Suki-
Can't quite wrap my head around what a 32 yr old adult man sees in a childish 16 year old girl....
See, I read the summary and kind of liked the idea...then bought the book and was kind of repulsed. Hina is borderline retarded. She's really not so much childish but downright stupid.

I've read a couple of series, that were discontinued by a group, and translated by individuals who have less than average ch/jp skills. That kind of work makes me drop the series, even though I was in love with it previously. So I usually skip series with summaries, that look like something online-translator would spit out.

I definitely used to do that, until I got desperate and read a few manga that had awful summaries, but were of the genre I liked. Since then, I've gotten into the habit of checking the scanlation group as well as the summary, because there are times when, although the summary is hideous, the group does awesome work. It just happened that they didn't write up a synopsis, so someone else did.
Also, I agree with the posters who said that the One Piece summary turned them off, and go even further and say that the art repulsed me too, for the longest time. Then, for some reason, I dled doujin of it, found that the characters appealed to me, and started reading. Instant hook.
Sometimes, I think there ought to be a mandatory class for scanlators. Summary Writing 101!

No, not summary classes. You should give some of them English classes instead.

The title's awesome in and of itself; however, the summary's just icing on the cake.

Kimi ni Todoke, Kimi no Iru machi, Histories Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Dengeki Daisy, Beelzebub...I´m sure they are better than many manga i read, but...
I created special list for those unappealing reviews, it helped me avoid them the next time i search some manga in database.
Such as
Pichi Pichi Pitch - especially this
Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge
R-18
Tsukiyo no Fromage , cute art but the reviews turn me down
Oretama
Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai
**Reviews=impressions for story of manga. Those list above left me impressions of stupid manga.
I apologize of my rude comment for scanlator groups who worked hard for those manga.
