i remember a while back when people would say that a fault in one piece is that no one dies, what we didn't know is that the emotional connection that oda skillfully creates. when he finally decides to get kill a character, a character we have an unwittingly strong relationship with (merry being the perfect example), we ball our eyes out.

seriously, one piece, the only series to make me cry over a boat and now manly tears are falling for ace.

It's always been dark (It's dealt with subjects like racism, slavery, tyranny, genocide, etc.)

The only problem would be if it started to become painfully obvious and Oda try to hammer it in our heads going "HEY LOOK I'M REALLY DEEP NOW"

But Oda's way too skilled of a writer to go down that road, so I'm not worried. 😎

Marco (the first division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates) is a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit user.
He is a Phoenix. And since Ace is a fire devil fruit user. They could mix are something and Ace would rise again.

On the one side I don't want too see Ace Dead. On the other hand I love that Oda killed him off and would find it a bit cheap if he doesn't go through with it.

Gol D. Roger died smiling, knowing his child would be looked after. Portgas D. Rouge sacrificed her health and ultimately her life to keep suspicion away. Luffy experienced hell, sacrificing years of his lifespan and well-being to challenge the ultimate symbols of Marine power. Bon Clay went to his doom with no regrets, confident that Luffy would triumph. Whitebeard, knowing his health was failing, went into the heart of the government to fight and sacrifice himself to secure a future for his sons. I don't get it though.
You can't "burn" fire (light and heat).

Magma being hotter than fire has got nothing to do with anything...
Plus logia fruit users are able to change their whole bodies into the element.
It would've made sense to kill Ace in his logia form by dumping water on him.
Or if he were touching seastone he could be killed by normal means.

Even in the impossible scenario of hotter being able to burn hot, it would still
not make any sense, because then Ace should've melted and killed Aokiji.
Ace couldn't do it because even if Aokiji's ice melted he would just create more.

Logia users have elemental powers and could become the element.
They can become intangible. These were supposed to be the rules...
You have to restrain the users with seastone to touch/hurt/kill them.

Breaking the rules after all this time just doesn't feel right...

at that level im pretty sure akainu can use haki to hit him 😐
so it makes sence cause haki user can hurt devil fruit users even if there logia.
so its as if ace was normal and got hit by magma

that makes sence to me
