death scenes of major characters in most mangas are often ambiguous, giving fans hope that the character could be alive somewhere out there.
but when you read the title of this chapter, the truth points at your face and there's no denying to it. kudos to Oda for doing that.

last chapter's cliffhanger was a shock, but i read this chapter knowing whats to come and accepted the outcome.
all I have to say is dying with a smiling face is a beautiful death, one without regrets.

Logia's have always been able to hurt one another, it has nothing to do with being physical or not, like when Ace stopped Smoker back in the day, if Logias have to be physical to be hurt then Smoker woulda just been able to go through. Also you can see signs on Ace's arms and legs that he is indeed still made of fire. If Logia's had to turn into their element by their own will then you would get alot more logia being killed simply by surprise. Marco cannot revive Ace, Marco is not a fire user at all, the animal his Zoan is based on is made up of flame but Zoan fruits just enhance your own close combat abilities, nothing else (if someone can remember a Zoan from the manga that gives them some sort of long range ability then ignore this) still Marco is not a flame user and even if he was reviving Ace is out of the question, regretfully Ace is dead and I think it would be a stupid move to do something like bringing him back.

well you do make a valid and logical point on the matter in which is hard to disagree with. but you also have to remember that this is a manga (comic book of the east, don't kill me guys for saying it! 🤢 🤣 ) in which anything and everything is possible. given how out of this world the story has been so far, i don't think it's an impossible aspect of Ace being seen in the future. i mean when you think about it, we have a swordsman who's been slashed pretty heavily in his torso. a man who can change into a bird being caught in an explosion that could destroy a whole country. a guy who happens to be a walking skeleton. and a man with a whole in his chest beating the snot out of a bunch of high ranking marines. it's not impossible to think that things do a 180 here.
and i really wouldn't say it's stupid cause when a character is loved enough to get this kind of outcry it's not stupid to see the author bring it back. happened to a lot beloved characters in many different series and genres before. but i'll admit the only thing keeping it from being stupid is how skilled the author is in implementing it.

Also, you can think of it like this: If Ace was intangible, then the punch should go through with it and hit Luffy, so you could reason that if it's not haki, nor that the two fruits have this one-beats-the-other connection (no matter logic, it's super powers from types of fruits, logic doesn't aplly, not even One Piece world logic necessarily) then Ace simply chose to be tangible to save his brother, which is a nice though imho

I agree, though I should mention that when people say that there are no deaths in One Piece they mean present time deaths as the story progress. As far as the past is concerned and flashback there is a lot of death and serious issues

Here is a simple answer if a fire was already burning and you tossed an almost solid liquid on it even a hot one what do you think happens? The original fire is smuthered by the liquid which is why he could hit Ace with Magma, it would just smuther the putting it out. Fires need oxygen to burn, Magma would prevent the fire from getting that oxygen choking it out.

I don't think Luffy would do anything like everybody thinks he would, he might just collapse. You can't really think he would turn ape-shit against someone stronger than his brother! After all he said himself that he was weaker than his brother. I can't wait to see Whitebeared's reaction though, he might collapse himself and loose the war, but we might get the chance to see him dead serious for once. Akainu is such an idiot, you can't do something like that and get away with it...YOU MAGMA BASTARD GO TO HELL
