Oh yes guys, I just can't wait to spend 100 dollars on the 7th Movie of Garden of Sinners on DVD that I will be "enjoying" in gibberish (japanese) and spend another 129 dollars on the Freedom Blu-Ray set.

Seriously have they seen at what price they are selling their crap? Between the animes that aren't getting a proper english release and the ones who do but ends up being sold for hundreds of dollars, who wants to pay that much or even pay attention when the fansubbers are offering the better quality years before?

They've finally released Freedom on DVD. If you don't mind the drop in picture quality....

I wish people who could buy more anime/manga actually buy it. I mean I'm a college student I buy manga online every week! I admit I do watch a hell of alot of anime online but I am starting on buying DVDs now of all the anime I love. I remenber reading in a magazine once that alot of anime fans nowadays won't buy for anime because they do not class it above free entertainment.
I'm all for supporting the industry! As i type this I have around 345 volumes of manga sitting in my bedroom and I'm very proud of if >.<.
It sucks that people who want to actually support manga/anime can't because of money and people who can think its a waste of money.

You ever stop to think the reason they have money is because they don't waste it on anime and manga.

This isn't a slight on you because if they have to steal to keep their money, they really aren't helping the problem any, either.

Aw man I hope this doesn't happen 😔 I would love to support my favorite mangakas and buy as many mangas and animes as I could but I have no money. I'm just a teenager that lives off of her parents and buys yaoi with her left over lunch money or dojinshis. I wish I had all the money in the world to buy manga but I don't so I read it free and possibly buy some if there's some to spare. 🙁 I understand Japan's decision but I just don't have money to buy manga/anime.

It is too widespread over the internet to really do much about. Seeing as though I no longer watch anime, I can't say I care too much.

There's a handful of selections of anime in the ON DEMAND section if you get some comcast cable. lulz.

Dubbed unfortunately... but some of the dubs aren't bad so meh.

Anyways, Japan tried to do the same thing with downloading their music online but obviously.... that didn't work.

That document isn't just about anime, but it includes it.

Still always fun to see how silly people can get when their free, illegal rations are being threatened. And before I get rotten lettuce thrown at me, let me point out that I'm saying this mainly to the ones who dragged in the dead whales into all this mess.

Heh. Not all of the people who watch anime online are from America.
Even if the people from America stop, will the people from other countries stop?

Well, I don't about the legal bit of it, but I would think that distribution of online anime would help anime sales. I know that if it wasn't for online manga/anime, I wouldn't have an interest in it, let alone buy my liscenced favourites. And I'm sure a lot of people are the same.

I also don't understand how American (or any other country's) releases of anime series online, would effect the sales of Japan's releases.

Now if we're talking liscenced series, then that's understandable.

no because its impossible to stop everyone
at the most they could try and delete every single anime vids on the net but they will most likely get uploaded again from somewhere else or people will find another way to share anime and mangas

internet is that much of a monster its unstoppable (exept in red china)

He's referencing the whaling issue, mostly. Japan doesn't negotiate fishing issues in general (whales included) because it fears for its share of the tuna market.

the only anime i ever bought was a dvd box of hokuto no ken (all episode series 1 and 2+movie) that cost me 40$ (after negociation) in my city's chinatown and it was just baddly a pirated dvd of free internet subbing(it was crappy by the way 🤣 )

it would have cost me 118$ 😲 for just 1 dvd(volume 1 new 22$used) on amazone

but i dont think it supported the author much 🤣 😢
