Ok so i don't read yaoi regularly, but I do have my moments and I definitely just spent the entire sunday on a yaoi marathon. And I've noticed Yaoi unleashes the inner giant perv in me. As a lot of you would know, the relationships between male characters in Yaoi tends to be a lot less...girly? I can't quite put my finger on the difference between yaoi and shoujo/josei, but the point is, I'm so ridiculous sick of girls who fall in love too easily and are way too "girly" for a lack of a better word. The guys in yaoi (both seme and uke) are so much more sexier for some reason? Maybe it's just me? it would be great if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

Anyway with that out, I was wondering if anyone knows of a shoujo/josei manga, where the main couple's relationship is a lot more easy going like you would find in yaoi manga... If it helps, I like
Nekota Yonezou's works. I'm honestly just happy with any recommendations that doesn't have the typical shoujo dynamics going on...sigh..

I hope my rant isn't toooooo convoluted.... I will be grateful for any help!
Thanks!!

Thank you for the recs, I've actually read most of them. I should probably get a bit more specific.

Shoujo/Josei manga tend to the entire story in the girl's perspective. I guess it would be nice if there is one where we get a lot more inside the head of the guy?

Another thing i've noticed is the art. Why is there a lack of sexy men in shoujo/josei? The only sexy guy that comes to mind is Hak from Akatsuki no Yona. Other than him, I'm at a loss...

First I just want to say that if the men in yaoi are different from the men in shoujo, it is because yaoi feels a need that shoujo isn't trying to. Different purpose, different audience.

Try the category tag "Female Demographic with Male Lead". You may find more of what you're looking for there. A few I recommend:
Men's Kou - Set in an all-boys' school, told from the perspective of the boys.
Angel Sanctuary and other works by Yuki Kaori
Otomen - gender role reversals
Stroke Material - tasty one-volume smut in which the boy is just as anxious as any shoujo heroine
Sakamichi no Apollon (josei) - the friendship between two boys is at the center of the story

Some of Eternal_rain's suggestions aren't shoujo / josei: Dear; Pochi Kuro; Koe no Katachi are shounen; Ran to Haiiro no Sekai and Haru no Houtai Shoujo are seinen

I've never had this trouble. 😃 What have you read?
