I'll have to vote for L too. The other detective are good too, but I think L is one of the best. The only other detective I like is Runge from Monster.

L's logic is limited by "coincidences that just happens to favor his theories" I mean really, death occurring when the school is out means he's a schooler and luring him out with TV. Guess what? No one watches TV 24/7. It was just pure luck that Kira was watching TV at that time. What happens if the Kira took a trip to another place. By logic, if he's that experienced, he wouldn't have gotten himself killed. Also, he didn't even solve the case. It was his successor who did.
The point is, he's not that great. It was all just some fantastical coincidences
Conan Edogawa I think is better.
If Sherlock Holmes was there. I would have chosen him.

Definitely Kiyotaka Narumi from Spiral, the guy can manipulate thing that happen in years in the future, and
everything that ever happens is already in his plan
The guy is even
considered a god in Spiral and he doesn't have any special power, that's how smart he is.

No L!? Like most of the others on this thread, I gotta say L.
Glados is a bitch. She made me kill the companion cube, the only friend I'll ever have. 😢

No, it's definitely Kiyotaka. L is an awesome character, and brilliant (to an extent), but Kiyotaka is even more intelligent and capable of completely manipulating people for extended periods of time.
As was said earlier, a large group of people actually call him "God" for his ability to excel at everything.
Besides, in death note
even L loses half-way through the series.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

Light, from Death note, i've always seen him as a good detective-like character if he put his mind too it
