Eckhart's Two Face was just some angsty revenge filled douche. While Tommy Lee Jones actually portrayed Two Face as a psycho which he is 😛 [/quote]
I'm currently remaining undecided on Two Face. This IS his origin, as given by the comic books, before he's succumbed to multiple personality disorder.

If he is alive, like I think, then his next appearance will be the deciding factor for whether he's a good two-face. That will be the appearance in which he talks between his good face and evil face, where he's obsessed with the number two, and where he is an actual villain. [/quote]
I thought Two Face had his disfigurement caused by a mob boss spilling acid on his face, not being burned by The Joker.

Falconi did it, though. Remember, he's the one with the cops under his thumb, not the Joker.

And yeah, it happened like this, but it's very close, and immediately afterwards he goes after Falconi and the two cops.

Well, after watching the 1989 Batman after so many long years, I can tell you this: Jack Nicholson is featured way way way more in the film, and kills just as many, if not more people than Ledger's character. As far as one being more sociopathic than the other, that's a moot point.

To me, Ledger's character was less insane and more maniacal. Jack's character was plumb nuts.

Also, a commentary on the over all milieu and aesthetics of the film: The 1989 rendition is shot wholly on a soundstage using analog technology. It seems far less polished than the 2008 version, so many people in the contemporary audience would give the modern rendition more credence based on that alone.

The 1989 version reminds me very much of 1940's and 50's film noir, which to me, is truer to the image of Batman that I have in my mind. The Dark Knight seems like a second rate modern superhero/action movie that while is still high quality, lacks that extra oomph to make it a classic.

The argument of which Joker is better is solely a matter of taste. I prefer the older one.

Also, the entire design is different.

both had good and bad points, but i will say that imo it was heath ledger's best role

People say that Heath Ledger was great but, personally I think he isn't he is more like a good crazy guy. There is no better joker because no one can perfect him.
