I think the meaning behind this question is "it came before the egg or the organism whichever animal is it".
And the evolutionist answer is the egg not the chicken. Evolution is a very slow process, the only "full chicken" could have been come from an egg.

It's something that can only be hypothesized about, it's a methaphysical question. So, I don't really think answering one of them will solve the paradox. It's like tossing a coin and then try to justify why we get one or another.
Well, trying to find an answer might be fun and educative, but I think the question should be questioned as well.

This is not a philosophical question. It's a matter of poor definitions. Obviously if it's just the chicken or the egg then dinosaur eggs came first. If it's Chicken vs Chicken egg then you have to define a chicken egg properly.
The real question is what is a chicken egg? Is it an egg produced by a chicken? or is it an egg which produces a chicken?
This choice is rather arbitrary. The question is rather stupid. It's the exact same problem as the tree falling in the woods. Whether or not it makes a sound depends on how you define a sound.
People are wasting their time asking the wrong questions.
