But, of course, the two real contenders are Miguel, his strong-and-silent-type right-hand man, and Angelo, the wide-eyed naif who has newly caught Cesare's attention. Leonardo da Vinci in his gay glory also appears to liven up the love triang-- I mean, serious historical plot line.

Homunculus: I actually think that this manga would improve from embracing the subtext as canon. It would be a courageous, thought-provoking move, and I say this in a totally solemn, not "omg fangirl squee" kind of way. After all, the main characters are not really the kind that one would fangirl, but the gender issues with which they obviously struggle deserve proper attention and should not be sensationalized as "mental abnormalities," as Yamamoto Hideo's works tend to do.

You don't see the latter getting its own genre.

Splitting the existing genres into more branch genres will result in us getting into a never-ending limbo of genre naming.

NightSwan I don't think she's trying to say that there should be a genre change (at least in this thread)... she's just being VERY technical about her definition of Yaoi.

So, Bunny think of this thread as characters that are not in any demographic where guys like/do guys but still do (I know that this isn't the greatest explanation... but I tried).
