In my opinion, just because the ending sucks doesn't mean that the series itself isn't any good. Some endings sure are rushed though. Take Mx0 for example.

I really don't think a series should be judged by its ending...but I can also understand people being turned of by a bad one...and that's why everyone should use spoilers.

Ya. If a series doesn't interest me enough and already foreshadows a bad ending, at some point I drop it. But if it's a great read from the start then I would most likely still like it regardless of the ending.

I agree as well. Also just out of context the ending might sound terrible, but it actually might be decent because it's a necessary or fitting end.

If it's something that I've been reading, I'll continue it anyway.

If it's something that I haven't started yet and it's either left open-ended or cut too short/rushed, I most likely won't start it. There are plenty of other things that I can read instead.

This. It doesn't need to be a good ending, as long as it fits. But I think some sucky endings would be the one that looks rushed. I like open-ended ones. : D

I'd still read it. Even though a bad ending usually brings down the overall quality of a story (cough Eyeshield 21 cough), that doesn't mean that you should miss out on it.

The only exception I can think of is if it's a story where you know beforehand that the plot barely moves (Or doesn't move) forward at all, and the ending solves absolutely nothing.

In regards to the question, yeah I'll still read it. Like you said with MxO, I saw all the reviews about how the ending sucked and stuff, but I still read it.
And like how it was previously mentioned before I think I remember breifly skimming, about how the ending may not be great, but the ideal one.

Besides, I like to make my own mind up about whether an ending sucks or not. I don't want to be missing out on what could be a great manga because other people don't like the ending.

I'll still read a series even if it has a bad ending because you can have a different opinion about it then someone else who might of not liked it. For example like Ichigo 100% I liked the ending while others didn't because their favorite girl wasn't picked.

Given the opportunity, I'd read the first chapter or volume and then skip to the end and save myself the trouble of going through a series with a bad rep. If the end wasn't so bad, I'd read the whole thing through. Of course if I was already following it, I'd read through it just because I'd already invested so much time into it.

That's exactly what I did with School Rumble.

So I guess that I would do the same with a manga that I've never read before that was already finished.
