I thought it would be pretty obvious that Blizzard would not make a game with high end requirements. They made World of Warcraft with lower requirements because they knew more people would buy their games if they did that.

As for my own PC... I tried the CoH single player demo with the lowest settings and it wasn't too great so for SC2, I know I'd like to play with the highest settings.

Blizzard is not known for its graphics...bottomline is gameplay. What the heck, people are still playing warcraft 3 (dota) and diablo 2 now!

Don't worry too much about system requirements and stuff yet because there is no release date yet (knowing blizzard its still a long wait).

i hope SC2 would be at least be on par with SC:BW. the latter has a very special place in my heart. really. but i think SC:BW will still be my favorite even after the second installment comes out ><

Im quite looking forward to playing Starcraft 2. I hope it will be as good as the first. I keep forgetting about it though! 🤣

Not sure if I should revive this or create a new thread, so reviving.

The achievements are actually quite fun to get. I am at 1k achievement score without any special grinding in this week Europe has had beta. I now start to see the evil ones being the majority left. The ones that forces you to play with somebody you know for the right team balances or the ones that is pure win stats (like 800 wins).

Enjoying it a lot, great for a free game. Will be buying it once more custom maps are out and balanced, that is after all what I have been looking forward to.

I am at 400 points without trying to get them, just playing the best i can with different strats

The game feels like Starcraft one Balanced and competitive... maybe a little too competitive for the casual gamer, but that is what Starcraft is about.

SC1 is one of the most competitive games ever. I don't think SC2 compares in that portion (not yet at least). Nor does it in balance, SC1 has had over a decade of balancing. 🙂 They are still finding and fixing game breaking bugs in the last stages of the beta, such as the fazing void rays.

its depend on the Korean whether they switch pro gaming sc:BW to sc2 or not.

@fazing ray, I hope they accept that bug as game mechanic just like stacking muta from BW.

Muta stacking just means you have all mutas move in a clump and attack at the same time. You don't increase damage output, just damage focus and through that survival and burst.

Fazing increases damage output since it does damage more often than it is supposed to after a certain amount of rays are in the field for insta kills. Theoretically you could kill an entire army in under 1 second using fazing to the utmost. It seems to be especially breaking in 2v2 or higher where one person can focus solely on the unit and there is a high concentration of targets to kill in the same range.
