I guess it'd depend on the state my body's in. If I'm in intense pain...nah, I'd be fine going to sleep.

No. I believe your last hours/minutes should be as peacefull as it's possible, so dying in sleep sounds good.
Not only because of the absence of pain - you have to remember about people close to you, who will want to be with you when you're dying (if your death is not sudden, as a result of an accident). It's a little easier and less painfull to watch someone dying in peace, without suffering. Believe me.

I wonder if any of you changes your opinion after seeing someone dying.

I have seen people die and it is not pretty much different to me if they sleep or not.
Would you still want to go to sleep when you just have made the last thing in your
life and you go to sleep so that you can die and not to do something or even notice that you are dying?

I would rather go as if i was slowly drifting off to sleep... no worries on my mind. If i was wide awake and died, i'd think i'd scare my family a lot more... but if i do go i'm gonna give them a hard staring contest.

sure, we all would like to know...people will tell you to got to reliogious stuff, that it's written and such, but to really know?....i doubt you'll know it before you experience it yourself, because no dead person has ever returned to tell us how it's like, so it's pretty useless to ask around...
it's just a matter of religion or opinion, no one alive really KNOWS...

which leads to the poll, awake? hmmm...i preferably don't want to be awake >.>;;; but i'm curious...si i might just choose to stay awake and see what the hell is happening to me ^^; but i don't think it will be a choice..life doesn't work with poll questions flying around...

i don't know, but i think i would like to die awake when i'm with my family or something so i could say goodbye or whatever. i'm too young to be thinking about this >_>

well, actually when ppl die, their body shuts down to protect himself. theres no such thing as feeling pain WHILE dying. you can feel pain BEFORE dying, but when the brain realizes youre about to die, the nerves will be put out of use. its the same when ppl have normal accidents, if the pain is too much for the person to bare, he wont feel it to prevent the trouma. then, after a few hours, you suddenly feel it (i went through this when i had a car accident, one minut i was hopping up the stairs to my house to tell my parents "guys!! i had a car accident" and shock THEM almost to death with my bleeding head, the shoes i carried, and the guilty looking guy behind me, and an hour later i was in the hospital with pain killers injected into my arm, and help to go to the toilet. got a 2 weeks vacation from school afterwards 🙂 ).
anyways, you fall unconscious the moment your body knows its dying. you cant die awake.

Of course I'd like to be awake when I die. I can die only once, so it would be a unique experience (this has a ridiculous sound), What if I realize something before I die? Maybe the meaning of life? Maybe the fact that I know nothing? will I be happy? Will I be sad? Will I have someone beside me to hold my hand? Will I be engraved into someone's memory forever? Will I be forgotten? I will have to be awake to witness the thin layer between life and death, or maybe I will witness nothing. Oh, you can die awake, my cousin died in front of me in the hospital, and he was awake.RIP
