i would prefer to end my life awake. i want to see the impact of my death to this world. wether it's a great change or bad, as long as i saw it, i'll die happy. i even die smiling if the love of my life is there besides me when i'm gone. but if i die asleep, how will i know she's there? so i'm voting for sie awake.

I don't really know, either. It would probably depend on the situation. It sounds like most people here believe they will exist in some way after they die. I have not yet formulated a belief system so for me there is the possibility of ceasing existance after I die (or not). I have to wonder if religon and beliefs of some sort of after-death life are only a way that creatures with cognitive ability and survival instinct to believe they continue living. Thats like the ultimate survival rationalization is that you don't really cease to exist after you "die". Well, like I said, I don't know what I believe, but the thought of ceasing to exist completely is scarey.
Hmm, on second thought, I'd probably want to be asleep.

Hm they say that a lot of corpses that they find that have starved/frozen to death, the corpses seem to have this serene satisfied look to them? Apparently (I really don't know biology very well so don't trust my information too much @.@) your body releases some sort of chemical or hormone or something that is like a painkiller and makes you feel happy as you die?

I dunno. But I think I'd like to be awake. Just to see those last moments, just to feel your body losing consciousness, that feeling of your body shutting down, I wonder what it feels like.

Well I also suppose it depends on how you die. Ooooh. If someone's killing me, I kinda want to be awake. Kinda freak him out by staring him in the eyes, hahaha.

I would like to know when I'm going to die, stay awake, say all the goodbyes and stuff, then just drop down dead without feeling any pain : D I REALLY don't want to get in an accident and have to go through so much pain before I die >.>;;;

Lets hope there's an afterlife : D (in case i didn't finish anything I wanted to do, //mangacoughanime//)

Exactly, i want to die fast and not painful. But i don't want to die just yet XD And after-life i hope to get to finish all the animanga and read more too XDDD

So, to do that and to maintain your memory in the life i am in current, i must awake XD but it's impossible unless i am a ghost.

so im all good....cept...i really dont no...i first thought that i want to be asleep (cuz i dont wanna feel the pain and all) but....i wanna say goodbye to all my family and friends, read my last manga and watch my last anime, swear at all the teachers i hate..and so on. and i totally wanna become a ghost so im free to do w/e i want to do and not get caught so i can visit all my friends and see them again ^^ cuz goodbye 4ever is not nice 😔

I would have it conscious, because then you at least know that you're going to die.. But when you die unconscious, you'd never know what happened to you.. It's like you go to sleep without realizing that this will be your last conscious moment.. and you (maybe) already make plans for the next day..

But they are then unfortunately cancelled.. 🤣

Uh, I don't think that you would even care that you died in sleep. You wouldn't exist, you wouldn't know 😛
As for me, I'd take death in sleep.
