I'd like to be unconscious when I kick the bucket, but then again being awake wouldn't be so bad, one last look at the world would be nice.

Though, I've always assumed I wouldn't die of natural reasons. I figured I'd get hit by an ambulance or something.

Hmm, I put no, but really there should have been an option for "I don't know" or something cuz, well, I'm not sure! I mean, I would love to die with the last images I have in my head being of people I love, but I'm sure dying when sleeping is helluva lot more peaceful...

If I were to be tortured to death like in Hostel or Ichi the killer, I would want to be asleep/unconscious. If I were to die in a harem/hentai situation, I would definitely want to be awake Snu-Snu. If I were to die in a bloody car wreck or by drowning or suffocation/asphyxiation I would want to be asleep.

Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

sounds about right, in some cases I'd want insane levels of meds for the pain, but generally not really. This past summer I went to the emergency room b/c my throat was closing off b/c of a food allergy, and I gotta say it so peaceful (though the shakes were lame). My family was freaking out tho, lol kind of funny.

aww... everybody is either YES or NO. and me,.... I don't really mind. I'd pick the "doesn't make a difference" option. They're both the same to me!

I wouldn't care less if I were awake or not if I die, either way your dead does it matter? Unless you're talking about if your soul if you have one and it's awake and taking one last look around at the surrounds and your dead body when you die. That would be interesting.

nah i dont really like pain... so if im going to die in a painful way gimme sleep lol... and if it is a death that i was already expecting (ie like i was terminally ill) then i would prefer to die in my sleep - because i would have already done what i needed to do as far as clearing up matters...

otherwise if it was something rather sudden - for example i was in a major accident and only had a matter of hours to live id like to be awake so i can sort matters out before i 'carc it'

it'd be very lonely, being a spirit...you can't even end your life in a natural way...i'd rather have a clean end than have some lingering attachment to this world....i'd expect the reason why spirits in manga tend to haunt other people is because they're very lonely, and without any humane contact at all, going mad is an easy path....

I don't know. Maby asleep? I wonder, what will my last dream look like? Dying I would rather not see this rotten world or the people who never really cared about me, shutting themselves away from me feigning ignorance of the problems that feel all my own. Anime, manga, I'd like to enjoy those one last time. Than again, sleep has always been my friend; sleep and forget the sorrow and loneliness I will always deny. I wonder, what will my last dream be?

@skittles- it'd be cool for a while to be all non-existant and ghost-ish, but it'd get boring everntually.

I'd probly eventually end up floating in the manga section of a Barnes & nobles reading over peoples' shoulders......

thinking about it after i immediately clicked asleep without looking at any of the comments, i think i might actually rather be awake when dying. y'know, say as much as i can say before i kick it, take in everything i can. everyone has suicidal thoughts once in their life (i think). i wanna know what i think of life when dying.
