Who wants to die when they don't know what killed them? Or exactly when they went? I want to know everything I can about it, so of course I want to be awake. Plus... Dying asleep would be booooooring. Boring on an epic scale of boring.

I'd like to be able to make peace with myself before I go so being awake is preferable. So long as it isn't a horrible death, I could care less if I was asleep.

Not knowing how I die is pretty creepy, so I'd prefer to be awake. I don't want it to be painful, but at least that way i can face it.

If I'm old, thats another story, because I'd be aware i could die at any moment, and the death would most likely be natural. I'd almost prefer to die in my sleep then, less painful.

Doing nothing is very hard to do. You never know when you're done.
