My last two girlfriends were otaku. And let me tell you that anime and manga were part of our talks but not the only thing. We watched anime together but not much.
I mean, if I have a girlfriend I don't want to watch TV with her. I ratter go out, talk to her, kiss, hug or anything but watch TV all day. The same with movies, we tried to wath V for Vendetta. We only watched the first and last 15 minutes.
And also, I don't go for women who like anime exclusively. If they like it that gets them some points but if they don't, no problem.
I totally agree with you there. Many points well taken that are way too true.

woah too much forums to read them all so ill just respond to the first one
Im a girl and i would LOVE to meet a otaku female, male someone to talk about anime and manga about would be awesome. There's like no one in my school that i noe who likes anime/manga or no one that shows that they do. (i think some people hide it but its really hard to tell) and i tried to get my friends to like it but they think its boring
when they told me that i was like....boring?? manga? boring? ur weird...lol j/k
yea its lonely haha
As for starting a relationship with a otaku guy. IT WOULD BE SO AWESOME. I like guys with glasses. I would chose brains over brawns. As long as he's not a jerk ,doesn't pays attention to anime girls more than me and i could have a conversation with him about something not related to anime.
Advice for the guys: Just go up to a girl you see reading a manga book. Im pretty sure that she would talk to you.I would lol. But make sure she's around ur age range. If she's like 5 year younger and more thats a no no. Dont get mistaken for a child molester.

mmm. i don't think i've ever reached the point where i would be considered an otaku. i'm more into anime-styled concept art than anime.
i look for women with an open mind and a bit of personality. girls who are all about anime are great, so long as they can keep the rest of their lives in check 😉 i believe that applies for most of the girl otakus as well.

Ever wonder why girl otakus never try to find guy otakus? ^^ A women who could sit back, chill, and watch anime with me would be a dream come true (trust me I've dated girls who hated it >.< my last was a girl from Okinawa). I've met a ton but they never seem to go for other otakus of the other sex so I just wanna know why this is. =P So I started this poll to try to find out what are we doing wrong?
Cause otaku girls watch so much anime, they will only take a asian guy with spiky, multi colored hair and a weird, perverted personality ^_^
Seriously, after watching a gazillion animes filled with em, who wants an otaku guy? ;D

I'm from the UK (the Midlands to be a little more precise) and the problem around here is one of numbers. Of the people I know who are considered otaku, there is a pretty large 'community' of us that get together, the guys out number the girls about 30/1. With those odds it's inevitable there are going to be alot of guys going home alone.
Where I'm from, there's what is essentially an ultra-hyperbole of your problem: Almost every guy watches at least some anime, and there are a lot of casual fans like myself, and even a healthy number of hardcore fans...but almost no girls have anything to do with any of it.
Of course, the trade is that since all of the guys do it, it's considered normal in gender-role fashion, in the same way that it's totally cool for girls to play with dolls when they're kids and not so much for guys--in other words, no girls are bothered by it. The attitude is, "Oh, Thursday night around seven...of course he's refreshing DB. Meh. Call later"

Wow, a topic I actually look forward to seeing replies in.
To be honest, I want an Otaku girlfriend (And perhaps, later on, wife). I honestly don't see myself with any other person. So, the replies in this will be quite interesting to me.

I am an Otaku girl looking for an Otaku boy, but I agree that it must be harder to find female otaku's cause we are few and far between. Especially ones (like me) who are hott and look sexy in cosplay. We Otaku girls are out there, so don't give up! XD

@_@ You're so confident in yourself. I suppose that's good 😀
Edit: Oh. I just found this online:

It looks like an anime-oriented dating community? For those otaku guys still looking for otaku females.
