Question for Female Otakus

Poll
Why do girl Otakus never try to find guy otakus?
Guy would rather look at anime girls then me
Guy has no money/jobs
Guy is to lazy
Guy is to nerdy
They are not cute as the guys from animes/mangas
I wanna be the nerd and find a cool boyfriend

I have looked but no guys near me are otakus!

Walk down to your nearest engineering school. ;) Actually, my friend made the joke but yeah, just about all my friends who are into anime are engineers ('cept my brother, who got me into it in the first place.)

I'd date a guy otaku, 'cause it'd be interesting to be with a guy who doesn't look at me like I've grown a head when talking 'bout anime.

wow this is definitily an interesting thread. I'm an female otakus i think i'm pretty much obsessed with manga anime and liveaction. i'm very open about it thats the first thing i say when i describe myself lol. the guys that i hang out with also like anime/manga. for me i can't really see myself going with a person that has no interest in anime/manga that would seem to dull and it would feel like we have no common interest. i'm actually surprise at what you said i thought that girls otakus would like guys of similar interest o.O... my bf also like anime too we watch them together. it super fun!

An otaku+otaku relationship would be pretty weird.

Would they have fights over the best anime? Would the wife complain when he watched hentai? lol

And who would make sure both showered and worked?

I think an extreme otaku + extreme otaku relationship wouldnt work out...

lol i wouldn't mind if he watched hentai and i wouldn't mind if i walked in or saw him watching it i think we watched one together.. people say its suppose to be cool so dunno i that it was common.

fighting i thinks it more fun agruements lol heated up conversations.

the thing is, if i have anime/manga/comics, i don't need a boyfriend.

OMG so true! *high five*
lol i get so engage in my manga and fantasize to much so that why i don't see the hype about finding boyfriends or checking out guys lol my friend always bugged me lol

UGH.

I voted for: "I wanna be the nerd and find a cool boyfriend"

But I didn't see the "They are not cute as the guys from animes/mangas" option.

DAMNN. mad

I would willing sacrifice my body, and totally surrender my body to relieve every females anxiety of needing/wanting a totally hot bishie anime guy....but the thing is...no matter how much money or current up-to-date, new technology,i kinda think its impossible to make me 2d. and ladies I would be gladly be the first person to test that on...so...
who'd still go for a simple asian somewhat otaku eh?? an annoying idiot that goes by Kawaiibaka? and yess...I am.
great thread. we need one for guys... a place where perfect people gather. to find our own piece that completes us. biggrin none eyes eyes
anyways. here in NC(U.S.) in durham there is no girl that would even think of going out with a dude that loves anime. I mean yes, they have friends, yes they don't mind. But as soon as they are out of reach, the mouth of their friends telling their other friends how weird it is. THen sooner or later the otaku no matter how much or how little of an otaku he is, is singled out and called a loser. I have had that happen to me and I have seen it happen. Though mostly people see me as a typical asian. Orchestra, good grades without trying, etc. piano, glasses, dark hair. Anyways, in the 17 yrs. of my life i have never had a gf, and that is why, right now I am ranting my sad, little heart away. Man if guys who were sensitive romantics had a chance to get the girl everytime instead of those jocks, or preps, or wannabes, or the other stereotyped category, this world would be a happy peaceful place.. eyes too bad it doesn't work that way. no

I'm not one and I haven't met a male otaku yet but if they're anywhere near the guys in Genshiken I don't think I'd date them...

I don't know if it's me, but i have hard time finding other Otaku people, especially of the opposite sex. Maybe I should join the anime club next year?

this thread is so long that I have no idea whether I've replied or not. haha.

I'm a girl (not totally otaku though.. I have a life outside of anime & manga) and personally, I wouldn't mind dating an otaku guy, so long as he has somewhat of a life outside of anime/manga. if all he does is sit inside his house 24/7 and watch anime & read manga, then that's not very appealing, but it has nothing to do with anime & manga. if a guy sat in his house all day and read books or played video games or watched sports, then it would be a little weird. o_O it's the fact that the guy's a hermit that would turn me off.

It should tell you if you've posted or not if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the thread ^^

You know, a lot of people seem to hide that they are otakus either when they are at school or with certain friends. and some who are labeled otakus arent as obsessive as people think they are, to basically it just comes down to meeting with them, talking, and just getting to know each other. I wouldn't call myself obsessive, seeing as I am always busy helping my parents around the house, going to orchestra to perform, going to school, taking other classes. Its just an image that other people put on others that usually makes other girls (who could have been potentially great to go out with) stay away and think them weird...like my case for example, though I have never seen an otaku girl her in Durham...small town i guess eyes
