Is there such a thing? A shoujo romance where the female lead is more experienced (romantically and/or sexually) than the guy?
Please recommend!
Josei is also all right. 🙂

At the moment, can't think of anything good wherein the female lead is more experienced. [The male lead is usually a hopeless guy like in harem mangas]. Though I kind of disagree with aagcnet. I think that in Skip Beat, Ren and Shou can be considered more experienced in relationships. Kyoko is quite naive with love...

Koi wa Misoji o Sugite kara definitely.
Toshiue no Hito maybe.
Both are by the same mangaka(my favorite mangaka).

Random Walk
the girl is not naive and has dated around, tho the boy has about the same experience. it is good story with cute and believable relationships, a great short read.

I think aagcnet was probably mainly referring to experience at "falling in love". Certainly Ren + Shou have had relationships, which is a lot more than Kyoko has, but Ren admits to never having been in love and I don't think Shou was ever serious about anyone before Kyoko, so a lot of stuff about their feelings for Kyoko are new for them. Meanwhile, Kyoko was in love with Shou, so in terms of falling in love, she's got more experience than them. The only reason why she seems "naive" is because, as the manga puts it, her "love circuit" got "fried" when Shou broke her heart and she vowed to never love again.
Anyway, I'll suggest Hannune Banhada! Season 1 and its sequel. The main character goes through a lot of guys. I can't remember all of them, but there's got to be at least one with less experience than her.
(EDIT: ooh, also, quite a few stories with female prostitution would probably go well in terms of sexual experience. How about First Love (SAKAMOTO Isao) and Sora ni Saitara.)

it can't happen, most girls who read shoujo wants true love, and they are mostly the pure innocent type. I don't think these girls want to read a manga on how a girl sleeps around, if they want to do that they can just watch gossip girl.
Starter of Controversy.

Well, it CAN happen according to the recs above. xD

@lemondude, why is it assumed that a girl is not 'pure' if she's had more experience than a guy? Note I did not say it HAD to be sexual experience, it could also be just romantic experience. But even if it were sexual experience, why is it 'impure' for a girl when it's okay for a guy? That discrepancy doesn't make any sense to me... A girl doesn't have to be a slut or 'sleep around' to have had a little more experience. Say, for example, a girl that has only had one boyfriend whom she loved very much, but then they broke up, and she meets another guy she slowly falls in love with, except that he's never had a girlfriend before. Can we really say that she sleeps around just because she happens to have dated 1 more person than the guy? Seriously...
Sorry, I never was fond of this double standard. But I agree w/ you on one thing, lemondude, is that most shoujo buys into that double standard, and often makes it seem okay for a guy to be more experienced (romantically or sexually) than a girl is, but not the other way around. Manga that has the opposite scenario is unusual in this demographic... More's the pity. If that's what you meant, then disregard my mini-rant above, lol.
So yeah, it's rare to see a more experienced female lead in shoujo... But thankfully, like drolemil said, even if it's unusual, it does happen.
I mean, in real life and in countries where there are equal rights for men and women (and women aren't, like, locked away or something), I'd say it's about 50/50 as to who has more experience. So the way manga approaches the issue is kind of idealized/weird/unrealistic...
Edit: To keep things on-topic with actual recs, I think that Kimi wa Pet might qualify, since she's older and has been in (what looks like) more relationships... But idk, I can't remember too well. Can someone confirm whether this does in fact count?

A girl can be both innocent and experienced in love; read She is Mine~ 😁
@tartufo
I know for sure she's older, but whether or not she or the guy has been in more relationships is kinda unknown I think (it's been awhile). I mean while she has her failed past relationships, the guy has also been crashing at women's houses due to being a runaway.

I second random walk, she is very experienced and act mature but I didn't finish it. Got bored of it.Try it, maybe it suit you.
Nadeshiko club - she used to have a boyfriend who is a jerk. The main character never been in realtionship. But, even the girl has experience in relationship she still naive I think.

Itadakimasu and probably a few other of her works iirc.
I haven't read all the stories but Confidential Confessions might have a story that would sorta fit. I could have sworn there was a story w/ a ex-prostitute in there somewhere but I don't remember if the guy had much experience or not.
GE is a shounen but it would fit.
i think about Deep Love-Ayu no Monogatari.
The boy fall in love with more experience girl
though it's kinda tragic story (spoiler??)
