i do. Myself. well not exactly hate but i just don't find them good enough. they just don't appeal to me.
A few of my friends hate all RPGs and another handful only like Western ones like The Elderscrolls, Fallout, Fable, etc. The ones who hate RPGs in general like action games and care not for story while the ones who prefer Western RPGs claim they don't like constraints of linear stories... (yet recently they've started to like some JRPGs like Valkyria Chronicles for some reason...)

One that comes to mind is yahtzee/zero punctuation, who does game reviews for the escapist. Personally though no one I know that really hates them, but would instaed buy a game like COD or Halo as a prefrence.

Japanese RPG. Really any RPG made in Japan but the typical ones (Example games: Final Fantasy series, Dragon Quest series, Chrono Trigger, Tales of ... series, etc.) are what usually come to mind.
non-JRPG aren't made in Japan. (newer ones like Fallout series, Elder Scrolls; older ones like Ultima, Diablo)
Generally JRPGs conjures turn based gameplay and random battles while non-JRPGs are associated with realtime (or semi real time) gameplay. I've noticed that the trend is beginning to fade for JRPGs; aside from remakes, the newer games are starting to adopt a faster and more varried battle system.

Well, if I want to watch an anime, but have to stab my hand every 5 minutes to continue the story, then perhaps I'll consider playing a jRPG.

The problem with RPG's and JRPG's is that it's like going around in a circle for a long time, then you realize that it's meaningless to play that kind of game type.. Rpg takes ones life away, took mine a few years and Im not proud of it.. Sooner or later you will quit, that's why I don't like rpg because like I said "It's a endless circle". Ofc, It might be fun to play it with friends but I prefer games like "Fable", cuz you won't get so stuck in it after you completed it and you won't spend your whole life on it... And ofc games like left 4 dead, shooting games.. But seriously.. don't spend your time too long on 1 rpg. 😀 Agreee?

I'm a non-JRPG hater, as in I hate any and all RPGs not made in Japan (as well as any made in Japan that seem to be trying to emulate the non-Japanese games).
I guess that's probably as bad a being a JRPG hater, right?

What you're thinking of would be mmorpgs, not the normal kind. The biggest difference, of course, being that one is online, and the other (mostly) offline. What we're talking about is not endless and "pointless", as you say.
