A friend showed me the first episode of this anime yesterday, and I was reminded of a manga page I saw years ago... and now I'm curious about what that manga was. But I thought I saw it way back when I was in high school, and wikipedia suggests that this manga is more recent than that.

The page I saw had a boy carrying an unconscious girl on his back. He was watching giants -- two or three, I believe -- eating people like shrimp (by which I mean, they ripped the spine out similar to how we would clean the digestive tract from the back of shrimp; I believe they dipped the people in a bowl of something as well).

Is that this manga? If not, what manga was it?

The anime is just like the manga.(They really stay close to the manga) If you read the first chapters there is a scene where a man is carrying two children away on his back (well I think one on his shoulder, and the other on his hip) but the eating people like shrimp or dipped them in a bowl ....

If the first episode wasn't like what you saw, then it wasn't this manga. I suggest making a thread in the I'm looking for section if you really want to find out the name of that manga.

EDIT - If it's not just request for this thread to get moved to the I'm looking for section and alter the OP to replace this anime/manga to Attack on Titan.

I only saw one page (or possibly it was two pages) of the manga in question, and only watched the first episode of SnK; so even if they manga and anime are exactly the same, not seeing that particular scene in the one episode saw doesn't tell me if it's this series or not. I can certainly request it be moved to that section, but I thought fans of SnK might be most likely to know what this other one is if it is a different series 🙂

I think Gantz had a scene like thet... not sure.

I just recently finished watching the anime, and then read the manga from Ch. 1 and caught up.
From what I remember all the Titans except the one that killed Eren's mom(He killed her first) eats humans while they are still alive.

But what you said did remind me of Blood-C ... Bleh terrible anime. (never read the manga) In there these giant bunnies? made ... salsa of humans. (One of the ways they killed the towns people.)

Yes, that was it, found the scene with google images after adding in "Gantz". Guh, still so disturbing, but it was bugging me to know where that was from...
