I've been into manga so much lately that I haven't had the time to sit back, relax, and watch anime. I'm in the mood for some good shoujo.

And by shoujo, I mean:

-nothing old. Anime from the year 2000 preferably. 😀

-nice/great/awesome animation

-something very romantic or incredibly sweet that will make a fangirl squeal with joy. Comedy and drama are good too 😀

-Good plots if possible. If it's a little cliche, then it's okay, but over the top is a no-no.

-Bishounen would be nice if possible, though personalities are just as important.

-Length can span to however many episodes possible. Though 100 seems a bit impossible for the shoujo genre... 🤣

-No stupid heroines (and by stupid I mean the kinds that make you want to smack them across the face) Though if they're stupid and you find them incredibly endearing, then I'm all for it!

I'm currently watching: Bokura ga Ita

Animes I've already Seen:

Fruits Basket (who hasn't seen it?)
Gakuen Alice
Lovely Complex
Vampire Knight (duh)
Ouran Koukou Host Club
Saiunkoku Monogatari

Uh...that's all I can really think of so far.

Anime I tend to stay away from:

Love Hina (Not shoujo but an example of what I dislike)
Suzuka (Very good example of terrible animation) Though I've heard from many that the manga is absolutely amazing.
School Days- That's not even shoujo, is it?
Special A Ewww...

Basically, I dislike harems, especially ecchi.

But I do love reverse harems. 🤣

It's really hard to find a good shoujo anime these days, so I beg of you, please help? 😀

Not shoujo. Based on an eroge, actually. Drama isn't the same thing.

Suzuka, likewise, is shounen, and I'm not surprised you disliked it- I'm still shocked that anyone can (okay, I'll admit that was a cheap shot, but sitll).

Honey and Clover and Nodame Cantabile are probably both shows that you would enjoy.

It's not romance, but Natsume Yuujinchou is probably the best shoujo adaptation in years.

Ghost Hunt is also fun.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

Why don't you try my recommendations to this thread too?

And:
Nana, if you haven't read/watched it. The anime is wonderful
Wolf and Spice is seinen, but you might enjoy it
Count and Fairy - animation is not very good IMO, but you could try for the story and the bishies
Looking Up At The Half-Moon - it's a shounen anime but the romance is sweet

PS: I have female friend who liked Suzuka (manga). People can have all sorts of tastes. 🤣

Ahh, Harukanaru Toki No Naka De. Based on otome game so reverse harem and it's historical. If you liked saiunkoku you'll like this, but haruka is less serious.

Edit: btw, the manga is still ongoing so if you like the anime, try the manga too. The first few volumes are pretty rough but the art gets really, really beautiful later.

La Corda d'Oro
Skip Beat
D N Angel
Pretear

Midori no Hibi (it's shounen, but still short and cute)

I second Kare Kano and Marmalade Boy. Peach Girl may not be to your liking, you may start hating lots of characters...>.>

And I recommend:
-D•N•Angel•
-Aishiteruze Baby
-Nanatsuiro Drops- The anime is very shoujo-ish and cute. And if you end up liking that one then also try Kamichama Karin and -Princess Tutu. :3
-Kaleido Star is great too. But I think it has almost no romance. Not sure. O_O
