this is really getting out of hand. religion and god are really touchy subjects.

i choose not to believe in god and i dont care what people think of me. and i dont really care if people do believe in god or not.

of course people people have to argue about this subject and it just goes in circles. I never see it make any progress. people shouldnt be judged if they believe in god or not.

I believe in this and you believe in that, who cares?

In the end the arguments wont get anywhere.

I had a debate with a friend on this topic a while back, but it turned rather nasty, so I cut it short (dissapointing, as it was a good debate). Here's a snippet - thought you might find it interesting.

HIM: I simply cannot accept the notion of anything beyond human comprehension.

ME: In the words of Pheobe 'Men used to think the atom was the smallest particle until they cracked that open and a whole bunch of crap fell out'. Dogs are colourblind. Colour is beyond their comprehension. Does that mean it does not exist?'

HIM: No, it does not, because it's a different argument. Colour is a scientific fact. Dogs could PROVE that different variances of light exist. It can be measured, analysed, study. Faith cannot. We cannot see variances in the EM spectrum, yet we can prove that such things as gamma rays exist through scientific, methodical testing. So it's an entirely different argument.

ME: No, it's the same arguement. How can dogs prove that colour exists? Just how smart do you think dogs are? In this case, God is the human and we are the dogs. Faith can be measured, can be proven to exist - but not by us. The limitations of men are many - we have to consider things beyond our comprehension.

There have been researches
that've come to a conclusion that
dogs can see green, yellow and some
blue. Some say that they can see
blue and green as white, but some
other colours can be seen as colours.
I don't think that anyone has yet transplanted
a dog's nerves to human bodies. <.<

From what I've heard of scientology is that it is basically a religious application of the pyramid scam....with celebrities....and a ton of money.

Lol, scientology is a much better subject. Probably almost everybody here can bash the Scientologists, none of this "discussing" stuff going on. Good old pin a needle to the scientologists but using a sledgehammer instead of a thumb.

P.S. aliens and god are the same in some ways. Some people swear they exist and have contact with them, nobody can prove they don't exist, and i don't really think that either are going to play a role on the world in my life span. 🙂
