I think the reason most people don't believe in god is because they're too unsure. they need a definite answer to everything and can't just believe that there is a higher power watching over them. I'm the same way.

If there is, in fact, some sort of omnipotent being, it wouldn't be human in any sense of the word. Being able to know, create, and control anything doesn't seem physically possible to me, but I can only say that if I were such a being, I wouldn't want my existence known.

So, in a sense, I don't really have a coherent idea of how I would go about "picturing" God. I just can't completely deny the possibility because I have a habit of liking to think that certain events are "connected" in some way. But that's probably more of a matter of human nature than anything else, otherwise religion would never be accepted by the public at large.

As for why people don't believe, I think you are probably correct. But I think a larger number of people believe in God than don't, just not the kind of people that would show up on a forum in a site like this. The general demographic that reads manga is usually a bit more on the geeky end of the spectrum, and as a result you end up with a lot of scientific types that see things like you suggest.

this might sound dumb or it might slightly change your mind. one time I was talking to one of my mom's friends. he said that he once lived in a house where every night he would here things being rearanged in his kitchen. That kinda freaked him out. One night he saw that his son (who was about three or four at the time) talking to someone who wasn't there. he asked his son to tell him where the person was and his son made a gesture pointing right next to him. He quickly snapped a picture. He showed me the picture and right next to his son was a foggy yellowish blob about the size of a person. You probably wouldn't believe it but I swear to god the storie's true.

I'm not entirely sure I believe you. The photograph itself could easily be altered, and it's impossible to tell anything over the internet anyway. But even supposing I did, there is a lot of debate as to whether or not that yellowish blob would be a ghost or an undead of any sort. As much as I love occult stuff (not that I believe it works, mind you) it just just as easily be any number of things, even something like an alien jumps to mind. I would guess that his son was moving stuff around just like any other trouble making little kid.

I retain my statement of there being no hard evidence (not that it matters).

sometimes i think that i was never born and will never die. I will continue to live on from the energy and mass we past down.

for me it kinda sounds really OUT THERE but it's one of the things i think about.
