Looking for a manga with a female lead who is emotionally weak or something but she is gradually becoming stronger.
I want her to be able to overcome difficulties, and become stronger.
Also, I don't want her to end up with a 'dominant' sort of guy who is like a prince, where he's perfect and strong and is always there to 'rescue' her from a molester or a bully or whatever

Basara, Orange Marmalade and Shion no Ou

Hmm....sorry, I thought I'd have more than that. I guess it's a little less common for the female leads to get "strong" in the course of the story as opposed to just being that way to start with than I thought it was.

Oh well, good luck finding something to read 🙂

Not necessary a romance but definitely fits the bill:

Life by Keiko Suenobu

There aren't many that fit the description of a girl becoming stronger without being a boring and annoying shoujo manga (a male is the common story), although they do fit the other condition about her hitting it with a guy that is not strong or prince like.

Change 123 - She isn't physically weak but she is emotionally lacking and gets support from a weak character to improve.

Mahou Tsukai Kurohime - She has some conditions that limits her power, she is quite strong but emotionally not quite so.

Thanks, but i guess I have to disagree with you. Many people just described a lot of weak-to-strong manga.
I have to add Six Half. There are lots of manga like this, but maybe because you didn't really explore a lot of shoujo manga.

Peter Panda

romantic subplot, and the story focus on somethings else. still ... very nice story though 🙂

Doubt!!

the male lead not a charming prince but a handsome jerk no where to be found when her in trouble. give a try if you can stand him 🤢

I think the " weak to strong " is hard to find. most of cases they remain weak but people practical call they strong 🤢
