I've got a question about Motomi Kyousuke. At first I thought it (?) was a woman. Then people told me it was a man. But now I've read the profile on mangaupdates and it says "MOTOMI Kyousuke's a penname and in reality this mangaka's a she". What's with this triple identity? I guess I should believe in what is written on mangaupdates, but wikipedia (although it's not a very reliable source) says he's a male, not to mention the reviews of her (?) manga...

There's a separate thread about this. I don't know the mangaka's gender but I do know that anyone can just edit a Mangaka's profile here in MU, and since this is such a debatable topic take what you see with a grain of salt.

Unless there's proof you can't really know for sure. Someone should probably lock that profile as well, it's been edited too many times. 3:

SAT is only needed when applying for the USA, right? What's the point of taking AP exams?

If you pass them, you can earn college credits - I only had to take 1 social science LER in college because I passed my History AP in high school. I don't really know any other reason why you would take it.

And for my school (I think for other schools as well)...
If you pass an AP class (with an A of course), it will give you 5 units of credit rather than the standard 4... which would help you get into a university since the students GPA would exceed the normal max of 4.0 GPA (baring he/she would get less than an A in any of the other classes).

Also, it says here that AP classes can work for universities outside of the US... if the institution chooses to except them that is.

For anyone with Windows 7 and firefox: does the newer firefox 3.6 work well with windows 7? I've heard from some people that it doesnt work well at all and crahes a lot, and other people say it's fine, so I'm looking for more opinions.

It works fine for me, but I haven't had the 3.6 for very long (a couple of days).

Wow, I didn't expect so fast answers xD Thank you Toto and MasamiAkane. As I still don't have the slightest idea where to apply to I guess I'll leave thinking about such things for the next year laugh

To be honest I still don't know, though I'd like it to be something humanitarian xD I'm not planning on going to the US, but the majority of the students in my school apply there, so I'm somehow more familiarized with their procedures xD
It's just that I have been anxious for a while, as everyone around me is constantly babbling about entering in uni... And we still have got 2 years and a half until graduating...

Then, if you want to do something in the line of being a humanitarian, why not go to South/Central America and donate your time and your strength? You could start learning basic Spanish now (as long as you don't plan on going to Brazil as they don't speak Spanish there) and learn about what you can do. Now, I'm not saying to go by your self (though you could). You could look up UN sponsored organizations and sign up with them. This could give you some experience that you might really want/need.

Or, you could go to law school.

Wow, I didn't see that you had answered me until now, sorry. Well, considering that I'm from Europe, South America somehow seems way too far xD Or more accurately - way too foreign for me O_o Thank you for trying to help me, though. + I actually already decided on some universities in the UK laugh At least I'll stop worrying about this for now, though these unis sound too impossible for me..

On-topic, I'll just ask a random question I've been wondering for a while.
Do high school students in the US really get to choose what subjects to take or drop at school? O_o

Though I have never dropped a class in High School... I am aware that students can drop some classes (their electives) and possibly transfer to a different class if there is enough room.

As for choosing what class one takes, yes... we can to a point. There are a few classes that we need to take: English, science, math, economics/government, history, health, and art or a foreign language. Of course, there are many different classes one can take for each, basically differing levels of difficulty, and some can only be taken during a certain year. Also, there are "electives". These are class you need to take; however, it does not matter what you take, because one needs a defined number of units that can not be fulfilled with the standard classes.

Okay... Before the end of the year, students would get a card that they would need to fill out. It would have the class they need to take defined; however, it would leave level blank, which he/she would fill. There the student could decide their difficultly level [HP/AP (advanced),P (the normal class), or a remedial level]. There's also the electives for the year left completely blank. As to what one can fill-in, this is determined by what school you go to and what state you are in. Mine were Spanish, extra science (we are only required two years), extra math (I think it's only three years but it might just be two), drawing, and woodshop/photograph. Oh, students can also opt for an extra morning class (I think the only morning classes were band, PE, and JROTC).

That's about it. If this sounds confusing (because I tend to do that), then please let me know and I'll try to fix it.
