Competent scheming protagonist with villainous nature

Hello everyone. Was hoping somebody could recommend me a good series to pick up that focuses on a character who's day to day life and responsibilities do not fall outside for anything out of the ordinary. But, unbeknownst to everyone else, behind the scenes they would scheme elaborate plans to achieve their goals.
I am mainly looking for a story where the protagonist is witty and always will pose as a formidable threat to her/his opponents. Also I would prefer the protagonist to be subjected into committing acts that are malicious and also incorporate methods of objectionable means which are used to defeat her/his opponents. Neither story or protagonist has to include violence but traits of villainy is a requirement.
The main themes/categories I'm looking for in story to be covered and explored into are; power, loyalty, manipulation, deception, hidden agendas, secrets, pretense. To a lesser extent; stratergy, revenge, obsession, corruption, suspicion.
The best example for this which I can think of is most certainly Death Note. Revenge Classroom and Medical Dragon seem to be promising too, anymore suggestions?
Thanks guys.

Destroy and Revolution The character that fits isn't the protagonist but his partner
Lost + Brain Felt like a cheap Death Note knockoff to me but you might like it.
And maybe One Outs although it's lighter than all the mangas you cited.

Code Geass(anime) fits all those categories, similar to death note. It may take a couple episodes to get going but its really good

I was actually driven to post the request I made on these forums because of that series believe it or not (though I haven't watched any of the episodes yet). I was very intrigued by the premise and subsequent plot developments that I was so sure that it'll be something I'd end up really enjoying.

Looks good, though, when I get to the current chapter I'm most certainly going to have to watch the live-adaptation if the story is as good as it sounds.

Unfortunately I can not read any of the languages which this has been released in. And just like Kureyon Shin-chan the manga wouldn't be 100% translated.
Thanks to all that have posted so far, very good recommendations!

Not really to be honest. I haven't read it but it seems that the main story of revenge isn't usually explored in most of the arcs and that is more of what I'm looking for.

Eyeshield 21, one of the protagonist anyway. You will probably love him because his character is so unique.
Akumetsu
Dendrobates, does being an assassin count?
One Outs
Majin tantei Nougami Neuro
About all I can remember for now. You may want to try the tag Antihero/Antiheroine, or something. I personally like those.
Chinese Translator Accepting translation requests if the manga interests me!

Dendrobates and One Outs is the only two good examples that really suit what I am looking for (Maybe Eyeshield 21 but still unsure).
Antiheros/Antiheroines isn't really a good place to look into to be honest because traits of villainy is mainly what that category would show me. But what I'm really looking for someone who doesn't appear to be out of the ordinary and I want them to seem very normal with an ordinary lifestyle or role. I want the main character to effectively plot behind the scenes, this isn't a distinctive trait for Antiheros/Antiheroines.
The story itself wouldn't need to be centered for the protagonist but I want the protagonist to lead the story. I guess the main thing to bare in mind is that I'm not really looking for a story with a premise where it would feel to me that the main character(s) are just dragged along for the ride to make a plot. I want to see a premise that has the main character(s) dictating the plot with their actions.
